No one can use this apart from me.These are my greatest pixel art, I'm especially happy with the beach one! The colours work really well I think.
These are only some of the battle backgrounds, I'm planning on doing more.

You can't use them because Pokemon Showdown uses them, plus only he can use them.

Ok cool, that makes sense. To be honest yours looks way better than Pokeshowdown. How close to finished is the engine? Is it all working? Are the pokemon animated? How possible would it be to add fan-made pokemon to it?
I'll send you a note when I get home with the original backgrounds so you can use those for now. I'll see how difficult it would be to make bigger backgrounds. I also ripped the screenshot and your background is 800 x 441 - I guess that's cos it doesnt take up the menu part but you probably wouldn't want it too cos it might look too cluttered.

Haha thanks! And the battle engine is being worked on everyday by our DEV's and we hope that we can have it finished within the coming weeks, we have yet to see any good Pokemon MMO that has a half decent battle engine with complete moves/an actual good battle experience, and that's what we're striving for. The Pokemon are animated yes, and we'll also hope to have all the move animations (which I'm remaking in Photoshop one by one instead of ripping for better quality, you can see as an example the release in this .GIF which I remade in Photoshop so it would nicer. [link] Though because it's a GIF it looks a litte worse, and it looks much better in-game.)

Um maybe. Why does it have to be double the size though? I can offer to make larger ones if you like I just think the pixels being 2x bigger looks a bit off. I told PokeShowdown but they didn't listen.

It's double the size atm because the game screen is 800 x 600 pixels, I'm unaware of how large your original ones are and I would guess it would be a pain/time-consuming to make battle screens that huge, as well as taking into account that we're non-profit and we have no way to pay you. Having said that,and if you'd still like to, we'd completely be open and thrilled to have you make them bigger, if not we're fine with them being a little
bit off at 2x.

Cool, I definitely like the idea of actual backdrops instead of just the plain ones offical pokemon games do. A suggestion, are you going to do like morning, afternoon and night versions of the backdrops?
