Jeepers! It's the Mystery Machine! I decided to try something a little different and make a vehicle this time. Since my models are carved from styrofoam and covered with felt, hard edges and precise shapes don't tend to turn out very well. But, with its rounded edges and caricatured design, the Mystery Machine seemed like it might translate okay, and I'm over the moon with the results! I tried very hard to select colors that were reminiscent of how the groovy van was colored in the original cartoon, and I outlined each part with a black Sharpie to really try and make it look like the Mystery Machine drove right out of the show! It's about 4.5 inches tall and 6 inches long.

Definitely one of the most fun models I've made in some time. Let's all head down to the Malt Shop to celebrate! Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
