You're not alone, Marcus. You have friends, a son who'll need your guidance, and a whole mess of swarm beasts to put in the ground.

I never thought I'd find myself feeling for Marcus, then Gears 4 rolled in. XD I actually like the more personal route the story took, family is the most important thing and it helped me connect with it a bit more.
As for this art piece, I think it is magnificent! It sets the mood well and is astoundingly detailed.

I could see Anya saying that to him in this moment!

I don't know if you have read the books, but they do a good job of humanizing Marcus.  I agree, I love that Gears 4 was more personal, great way to introduce new characters.  That said, I would not argue with Gears 5 being a larger scale war type game!

Thank you very much, I am very happy with how it turned out!

No, I haven't read the books, but I want to. I hear they do a good job of filling in the gaps left open by the games.
Yeah, Gears 4 set the stage nicely. It's up to to Gears 5 to take this revived nightmare to the next level.
And you are most welcome.

The books are great, I really recommend them!  The first book is set between Gears 1 and 2, then Books 2, 3, and 4, are between Gears 2 and 3, then the last book, The Slab is a prequel to the games but ties in with Gears 3 really well.  More importantly though, they do a great job with the characters, after reading I loved them all that much more.
