Not much to say about this one... except that I was listening to "Bright Eyes" by Simon and Garfunkel, among quite a few other songs, and realized some of the lyrics made me think of this.I tend to draw things when I chat with people; phone or otherwise. This was worked on a few hours each day for a few days. I think I used a ref from corbis for the hand, but other than that, the rest was made up. So again, anatomy could be better. xD
Also, while I'm jabbering away here: if you're wondering where my new icon came from, it's from another painting I recently finished, but have not put here yet. :o
Time taken: No clue, but at least a few hours
Tools used: Painter Classic, Photoshop elements for borders/etc, and a tablet

Bright eyes, burning like fire. . .
That's such a beautiful song. And a great picture to come from it, too. This single creature, sitting alone in a rocky, cloudy, desolate place. He (she? it?) Looks sort of. . . not really sad, I guess. More. . . hopeless, somehow, all bent in upon himself and looking for anything that might shine or have a bit of color to it.
All the philosophical crap aside, the fur looks soft and fluffy ^^ I want to pet it.

Hmm, actually, the more I look at it, it seems to be correctly proportioned. It just doesn't seem to be on quite the right angle for foreshortening to have quite as much effect >_> Maybe it's just me.
