Ayderus Concept 3finally finished this >.< one of my first ever complete (short) reference sheets! This has been the Ayderus's current design for awhile so I decided to make a ref. for it because of that.
I wish I got more detail in there, but I'm just to lazy sometimes...

Gorgeous design! I love this species.
Although I found it quite similar to my own species the fingerbeackΒ (not a very inspired name, if you have other suggestions I'll be happy to hear), who have developed on Earth after the disappearance of manΒ 2 million years from now (this creature roams 12 million years after that).

yes, I am very well aware of what an Xenomorph is : P when I was a little girl they were my favorite monsters, so I added some of their characteristics to my creature design.

personality wise, they hunt in groups, and are a pack species. very intelligent animals that use their glowing spots to communicate to each other on the dark planet they live on, which also helps with confusing their prey.

well, the Ayderus is usually dark grey or black, but can have a pigment mutation causing them to become albino (albino is VERY rare). I've also changed the body shape a tad bit, making them more muscular.

Their glowing spots can glow a subtle hue of any whitish color (mostly hues of blue and green) depending on inherited genes. A single thresher (pack) usually has a similar hue to their spots because of the close ancestry, which also helps them determine their thresher members. Example of glowing colors: One Ayderus can have a bluish/white glow, while another Ayderus can have a greenish/white glow.
