Description
I tried to find a connection between bee eaters and something magical. I found a nebula :3 The Merope nebula is named after one of the Pleiades in Greek Mythology. Merope rose to the sky, to shine as a star together with her sisters. Her name meant bee eater. This is a gift for ... well, actually he is simply MammalMaster, so he stays my Mammal XD
The bee eater is one of his favorite birds :3

One of your best ones in my opinion
I don't have any thing more "critical" to add to what Fennec already said.
I'm especially impressed with how you succeeded in separating the light blue from the backgrounds dark blue :3

* flabbergast* That is the most beautiful background I've seen from you! 8D Love it
The eye look very realistic and has and well defined. Really nice textures on the feathers, especially under the beak and throat, also like how you worked in some of the blue colours from the background to the bird. The different colours on the belly of the bird looks a little fragmented as they don't seem to connect very well. The beak isn't flat but compared to rest of the bird it's not as three-dimensional, and I want to emphasise that the rest of the bird has the best depth I've seen from you yet

It was so much fun to work on <3
I guess you're right about the fragmented parts of his belly and wings. Also on the beak, hehe

Bee Eaters! I know about those birds. They're awesome. XD
Nice job, as usual. I'd be pretty happy if I got this as a gift! Anyway, keep up the good work. How's the biology comming along? XD

Biology is pretty killing at the moment, but I got pass marks for all of the latest tests, so I shouldn't complain ;3
How about you? How did the exams go?

Aednuii-Caramni In reply to LabradoriteWolf [2012-02-12 00:36:21 +0000 UTC]
You're welcome.
Ah, Biology can do that. Draw out all those complicated metabolic pathways in big, colourful diagrams. It helped me... that and I put the all over the walls of my room. People think you're either crazy, or some sort of genius. XD
Well done on getting those pass marks!
My exams were all right, though pointless since I've got unconditional offers anyway. Still, history was great, so I should an A in that, but Biology was a total farce of a paper. Two hours, seven questions, one of which was a fill the letters in for the right answer, and the other was a crossword. Of the four modules we study, nothing came up that was proper Biology. So, no Transcription and Translation of DNA, no Lac Operon, genetic mutations, genetic diagrams, dominant and recessive epistasis, linkage and sex linkage of genes in patterns of inheritance, no electrophoresis, polymerase chain reaction, sequencing a genome, automated gene sequencing, genetic engineering, extracting a gene and placing it into a plasmid with DNA ligase...
I'm not done.
Nothing on how you can genetically engineer bacteria to produce insulin, and how you would identify which bacterial colony has taken up a working copy of the insulin gene. Nothing on biotechnology, nothing on the brain, the nervous system (parasympathetic and sympathetic) nothing about co-ordinating a response (fight or flight), the sliding filament model, the DR4 Receptor in the brain and it's links to dopamine and ADHD.
In all, anything that required intelligence and had anything to do with biology that you study in university was left out. Instead, the paper was just full of rubbish questions on ecology that are so vague you have no idea whatever you write is right even. If it's not on
