This started out as bust practice and turned into fanart? SUPA SYMBOLIC PORTRAIT ARRRRRRT YEAHBut yeah I pretty much never draw the actual crew, just because I don't really have a solid picture of how they're supposed to look. Also I really love andalites. So, I dunno. Just experimenting I guess. Trying to capture their respective views/personalities more than their faces. I really think Jake's the most successful, just 'cause both his morph and his portrait blend so well. I couldn't duplicate that with the others, it was kinda frustrating. Ah well.

I like how the hawk is covering up Tobias' face. That's some symbolism right there. I haven't read this series in a long time, but if I recall correctly.. that symbolism correlates perfectly.

Thanks a bunch! I did take a lot of care to make the poses, animal portraits, and expressions of all the characters line up to symbolize a lot of character traits. It's really heartening to know that you can tell that sort of thing right off even if you haven't read the books in a while c:

I'd say Rachel's is also pretty good, if only because a bear roaring fits her badassitude so well.

it's to symbolize his conflicted identity and personality- the hawk is is true body, while his human form is just a morph. Going a little more in depth, he often emotionally 'hides' behind the instincts of the hawk, and has a lot of struggle around what he is, what he has to be to participate in the war, what it is to be human, etc.

I will be putting their portraits in the andalite sky, and of course I'm going to put Ax's to, then I will make an andalite and human baby looking up at them. ( I am going to draw my own Ax )

I'm sorry, but I'm not quite comfortable with the idea of these portraits being pasted onto something else. Honestly I think you would be better off drawing your own portraits of them. It'd make for more consistency with your own style and would most likely fit better with what you're wanting to depict. Which sounds like a pretty cool idea, so I'd love to see what you come up with!

I remember reading this book series and I was so obsessed with it when i was a kid...was really disappointed that they didnt keep the ABC tv series Animorphs going as i think it had potential

You captured their characters really well - I like how well they blend with their battle morphs, how Tobias is hidden behind his morph - after all he ended up being more hawk than human.
The style is great! You made digital art look like traditional ink drawing.

I love how well you've characterized each one in such a small space- Rachel and Tobias in particular. I think Cassie is also really interestingly done because of the contrast between her worried, sad human face and the wolf's snarl- it makes for a good commentary on the contrast in her own nature.

Thanks, glad you like XD Cassie was definitely one I had to think about more. She had a really.. conflicted nature. I really feel like she committed some of the /worst/ acts of the animorphs, and yet for the most part functioned as their moral compass, it really is kind of an odd duality.

The expressions of both the human and animal forms are perfect. It's a nice way of showing the everyday attitudes vs the battle mindset.

I think you're really underselling Rachel and Tobias and Cassie. Marco and Jake are very indistinguishable for me here but the other three are recognizably them.

glad you like those three XD though like I said, I do have difficulty with my mental image of pretty much the entire group, so there's very little consistency in how I can draw them. I'll work on it
