I don't know why I saw your other winter art but not this one till ikkicon. I do find it very lovely and the more I look at the print, the more I see the details that makes this one very beautiful. I'm very glad I got the print

Thanks! I actually made some edits to this pic to make it better, but that was before I printed the posters OTL. I doubt most people would notice the differences though x3

I hate that when that happen @_@ always finding things to fix!
Haha I'm tempted to make a comparison, but I don't care to take down your print from my wall just for that xD

Well thus far, the print is perfectly mint ewe (and maybe I'll seem very lame but I actually left it in the sleeve as added protection since the sleeve isn't distracting ).
I think I would only trade if there was a very obvious difference. And with the print so far from my screen I can't figure out what that difference is xD

Haha yeah I figure it's one of those things that's really noticeable to the artist, but not so much to everyone else. I always leave prints in the sleeves when I buy them 8]
I used to sell my prints with sleeves and backing board, which was really nice but then I had to start cutting back on weight. I'm so happy to finally be downsizing this year; kinda went nuts last year xD

This is one of my all time favourites. I think the biggest difference is the level of detail. just awesome. I'm curious, how long did this one take to complete compered with the old one? Its easy to see you'r work has improved but if it's taking you longer to get to this level, is it worth it?
I m a bit of a videophile and I can see image corruption. What are you saving your work out as. Its only a little bit but for all the work you put in it I'd hate for this to be your final. and defiantly DON'T send this image to the printers as it is.

I save them in the same jpeg format as I use for the web site images; but because the dA version is smaller it's more noticeable. Some people don't like images on dA to be too big so I keep them small. It could also be dA though; they've been toying with their image sizing system lately and sometimes images are automatically shrunk down slightly for some reason, which makes them look degraded and blurry.
I don't remember how long the old version took; I don't even remember working on it. But judging by how much smaller that version was and how much detail this version has, I'm sure it took far less time. This one didn't really take that much time though; about three 6-hour sessions, maybe. Just a guess though cause I never keep track.

hmm. I can still see a little bit of corruption on the web sight. I didn't know jpeges were so unstable until my computer graphics teacher told me. I don't know how to fix it. you may have to experiment if you chose to fix it.

that's how jpegs are; it's nothing new. I used to use png but the file size is too big for a lot of people's connections. Jpeg is flexible; you can set it to whatever level of quality you want, even lossless. I keep it at about half compression. That keeps the file size small with what I consider an acceptable level of corruption. If people want the perfect image, they can buy the prints =]

Actually I only used Painter for the snow, some of the glowing effects, and other effects. I used to use Painter for entire pics though. You can see an old tutorial I made using Painter here: [link]
