Commission for an Anonymous commissioner ^w^Here we have Lianna and Celica of the Fire Emblem games, having decided to try and flank an enemy force only to stumble into a well placed quicksand trap
Lianna is slightly panicked as she sinks deeper, while Celica is doing her best to keep calm but is still worried as she too sinks deeper <3

There are some sand pits by a town close near my home city. I went once and with friend and we acted like we were two jungle girls getting lost in quicksand x3. it only comes up to shoulders so we having to kneel to get to neck x3.
It was lovely, really smuggy feel. She wants going back maybe in april or march when the wet season comes here x3.
Aye is bad for cities sometime, maybe try spa or something ovo? but is expensive TwT

I gotta ask, it's somewhat off-topic. It is however related to Fire Emblem. I tend to see a bit of art work about Fire Emblem from you nowadays and was wondering is the series really that good? I've never played any of them. I know the biggest craze is about the 3DS ones and if that were the case, I don't own one so I'm missing out but wanted to ask anyways. On-topic: Great image as always.

This does raise a good question; why didn't more castles use alternatives moats to just water?

Probably easier to dump water into a pool as opposed to mixing quicksand XD

Historically a lot of castles used dry ditches and mottes (artificial mounts, usually made partly from the spoil from the ditch) rather than moats.
Of course, dry ditch + rain = mud. Mud => hard to stay upright in or climb out of the ditch.

Thinking about this, I do believe that quicksand would be more effective than still water for preventing attacks.
