"Get Me to Europe" Donation Commission for the darling~Merrowsong !Emily and I have been friends for a long, long time and she's always so supportive of me whenever I have some fundraising to do. It's always delightful for me to be able to draw her characters too since they're so vibrant and full of life.
So when she commissioned me this time, I picked her Arythys to draw, because I love the sphinx-esque Egyptian sort of design! (Anything Egyptian is actually a secret passion of mine.) I wanted to make her more dynamic, and show her in flight and using her magic, so that's what I went for~

She looks so awesome! I think that the perspective on this is fantastic, too--I love how she actually looks like she's in fight instead of just hovering in the air. I just love the way you drew her skirt--I can't ever draw ruffles! You illustrated her magic better than I have--it's exactly the way I imagined. The way the sandy horizon melds into the sky is awesome, as well. It makes the horizon look hazy and desert-like. Thank you so much for this! <3

Thanks so much! I'm glad the perspective turned out well-- it started as just a small doodle and then blew out of proportion, and I just had my fingers crossed that it would look good in the end! Drawing her flying was totally new for me!
