Description I've seen quite a lot of Undertale-Pokémon crossovers, but what about Yu-Gi-Oh crossovers?? XD
Or do they already exist... *searches*... oh dammit, there are already UT-YGO crossovers and they are much prettier than mine. Ah well.

I'm probably outing myself as a huge nerd now, but I used to play the trading card game with my brother when we were kids/young teens. And for some reason I started thinking about which strategies would fit the Undertale cast. I'm not up-to-date with the newer deck releases because I haven't had any contact with the whole topic for years, so there are probably more fitting choices for the characters, but anyway, these are my ideas.

Frisk's deck would be centered around the card "Self-Destruct Button". When it is activated, the LP of both players are reduced to 0 at the same time, resulting in a tied game. It's the closest thing to mercy that I could think of. However, you must have taken a lot of damage before you can play that card. Controlling this can be tricky, you don't want to loose before you draw the Self-Destruct-Button, after all! To solve that problem, Frisk's deck would contain many defensive cards. The ones shown in the drawing are Kuriboh and Waboku (which translates into 'Emissaries of Reconciliation').

Papyrus would get a nice old-fashioned beat-down deck with lots of normal monsters. The cards illustrated in the drawing are Aitsu, Koitsu and the Swordsman of Landstar, the latter used to be my favourite card.

Chara's deck would focus on persistenly reducing the opponents LP through card effects every turn, a strategy called 'Burning'. It's the most ruthless and vicious gameplay tactic that I could think of. The cards in the background are Drillago and Nightmare Wheel.

Sans was tricky. I decided to give him a Lockdown deck that follows the strategy to gain as much control over the battlefield as possible, leaving the opponent few or no options to act and win. I decided that this would probably be the most similar to the way he acts in the actual game (think about his 'special attack') and it would also be very efficient against Chara. The cards shown in the illustration are Magical Arm Shield, Spell Canceller and Royal Decree.

I had ideas for Asgore and Omega Flowey as well, but I've already wasted enough time with this.

Sorry if the shading is a bit weird, by the way. I was slightly bleary-eyed when I made some of these drawings.

......YES

SO

MUCH

YES!

I'm an avid fan of Yugioh (thanks mostly to LittleKuriboh's fraktastikal Yugioh Abridged series and my older siblings) and I STILL have my deck and my spare cards! I even got a little case for them that attaches to my belt so that I can quickly whip out my deck for a quick one (...get your mind out of the gutter you know that's not what I meant XP )

I had a LOT of Fiends with some Zombies, Dragons, and Spellcasters sprinkled in and I preferred Trap cards over Spells. My general strategy was based on removing cards from play and bringing them back with Return From The Different Dimension with some SCREW YOU cards thrown in like Reverse Trap and Scrap Iron Scarecrow. I had some deadly combos with some relatively low-level monsters that would be a pain in your keister if you killed them and then I'd use Dark Creator to swamp you in bodies or get me some sacrifices for my heavy hitters, chief of which was the Wicked Dreadroot or either of my Earthbound Gods. And if that wouldn't work, I'd bring out Black Skull Dragon and thanks to Red Eyes B. Chick I could revive my Red Eyes Dragon after fusing it for extra muscle. And then I have some chaotic cards like Blind Destruction for maximum mayhem and Final Destiny for nuking the field.

Thanks to Netflix the show's back on (well the first 2 seasons at least) and watching it again reminded me of HOW GODDAMN TERRIFYING YAMI BAKURA WAS (seriously, he had one sinister laugh, a killer deck, and some epic one-liners; "Don't you know that I AM the darkness?"). Given that Chara uses a Burning deck here, I can see her using some of Bakura and Melvin's cards, Puppet Master and the Destiny Board come to mind (I actually recognized the Nightmare Wheel and Drillago from the show when Melvin uses them and yes, I headcanon Chara as a girl, its because my little sister is a lot like them, okay?). Been actually thinking of trying to boost my deck with some Burner or Lockdown cards meself....

And me high school mates came up with some hilarious rules, best ones were Anime Dueling and Swag Points. Anime Dueling was simple, you had to act like you were on the Yugioh show. So ALL of your turns were drawn-out, you had to draw a card as dramatically as possible, you had to slam cards onto the desk when you summoned a monster, you had to yell card titles as loudly as possible, you had to voice your plan aloud, and you had to jump backwards everytime a card of yours was destroyed as if you were hit. And Swag Points were simple; each duelist has 5 Swag Points along with Life Points. If you are attacked directly by a monster with 500 or LESS ATK, then you lose a Swag Point BECAUSE THAT KURIBOH JUST GUT PUNCHED YOU!

Boy that was fun.

And Yugioh Abridged affected how me and my friend Nick played games. He'd always talk like Marik and me as Bakura, made Evil Within a LOT funnier I promise. Best instance; a giant monster rushes towards the player. 'Marik': "WHAT IN THE NAME OF RA'S ASS IS THAT?!" 'Bakura': "Goddammit Lenny!" *to the monster* "Did Uncle Dan let you out of the basement AGAIN?!"

....sorry for nerding out like this, been a LONG time since I found another Duelist anywhere on this planet . You were at the rank of 'Damn Good Artist' when I first found ya here about a week ago, but you have been promoted to 'FRIGGIN' SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME SUPER SPECIAL ARTIST OF SUPER SPECIAL AWESOMENESS.......IN 3D!'

Aaaah I can relate so much to this! Great to find another fellow duelist!
I play a Crystal Beast deck myself. It's all about swarming loads of monsters and a clever use of the magic cards space. I think my deck doesn't contain any trap cards because they would clutter that space, so it's important to use magic cards effectively. I haven't really kept up with any of the modern deck strategies (XYZ and pendulum monsters and stuff like that), since I don't play the game much these days, but I'm still ready for a duel whenever I get the chance
I even participated in a tournament this year, but I pretty much got my ass kicked, haha I still like to believe that I put up a good fight!!

I always felt like burner decks were very effective, but not very fun to fight against XD It always left me completely helpless (especially if there was some strong lockdown going on as well), so it just kind of felt like the opponent was cheating, even if they obviously weren't. But then again, I always got a bit too emotional about my games XD

Swag and Anime dueling sounds like a blast, I wonder why me and my brother never came up with that!!
And I think I still have very foggy memories of Yugioh Abridged...? I should definately check it out again some time and get that nostalgia flowing, haha. ^^

Well, here's the perfect video to get back into Yugioh Abridged: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jnCce…

Congratz on the tournament though! I don't recall Crystal Beast decks I'll admit, but it does sound familiar....any chance I could see some of yer cards? I'd be more then happy to show you mine!

And yes, Swag and Anime dueling makes card games even better! High school was a BREEZE thanks to that!

What kinda deck does your brother run? My brother has a similar deck to mine, lotsa EVIL cards. My older sister has the Brotherhood of the Fire Fist cards for a good old fashioned beatdown with FIRE (she likes punching stuff and fire so this was a match made in heaven). And fer my little sister, I traded around to get her a lot of Dragon monsters.

And when we meet in person, the first words out of my lips will be "IT'S TIME TO D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!"

My Crystal Beast deck consists of the 7 Crystal Beast monsters, which I can put in the Magic Card zone when they are destroyed instead of putting them on the Graveyard, and then a bunch of key cards to really screw up the opponent, like this one: yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Crystal_… or this one: yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Rainbow_…
The concept is pretty difficult to get into, but I've played it for such a long time that I am basically MERGED with my deck.

My brother mostly plays a Naturia deck (It's a terrible mixture of lockdown, swarming and pretty effective damage output), but he also dabbles in Cloudian and other decks sometimes.

Yeah, I wish we could play against each other sometime! Living on the opposite side of the world is kind of inconvenient. XD

Ahhh, I see. I can see the strengths and appeal of Crystal Beasts! And I thought they seemed familiar, one of my cousins used them in a duel against me a LONG time ago (hence why I fergot). And Crystal Abundance would be a good counter to me because I have a few cards that let me spam Special Summons like no one's business.

However, I am FAR from helpless. On the one hand the circumstances I'd need to summon these guys are VERY specific, but even getting just one of them on the field can drastically turn the tables against you; yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/The_Wick…  yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Relinqui…  yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/The_Dark…  yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Earthbou…
These fellows are the heavy hitters in my deck along with Black Skull Dragon. My other monsters are generally geared towards attaining the correct circumstances I need to summon the others.

Well I do plan on globetrotting in a couple years. Mayhaps we'll run into each other eh?

>D!!!

I think my fav was Napstablook here, hee! ^__^ But actually, I really loved reading all of your thoughtful descriptions for these strategies; I really couldn't have thought of a better approach! ^_^ The background coloring that you made in Papyrus' panel, by the way? *So* beautiful. &, can I just say...? Seeing he & sans, both so happy, doing the same activity? ^.^ That made me really happy to see~~
