Edit: I don't know why the hell it isn't showing up u_u If you full-view it, it'll show. ¬_¬LOL, I had the strongest urge to put this in the "Indy Art > Vector" category.
Anyway, after checking out a pic by and whining about how nobody drew Vector, I decided to draw him on the TLA oekaki. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I'm a little angry about how Archie treated him; they not only made him into a badly done black stereotype, but a self-centered, egotistical one that everyone grew to hate. It's kind of odd that all the "black" characters in the book are hated, like Snoop Dog, for instance. And Sega's new design for him in Sonic Heroes makes it even worse. I will never draw him like that ._.; For now, anyway

I don't think I ever liked Archie anymore after they strayed so far away from the cartoon it was based on.
Although I don't know Vector very well and have only played Sonic Heroes as him, I think I might like his old version better.
I don't wanna go near Archie comics; ever.
As for the drawing itself:
I've never considered Vector as black, I never saw him as anything; just Vector the Crocodile.
The oekaki is really good considering oekaki are usually done on an internet browser.

This is done well in your style.
By the way, as I look through the first part of Archie Sonic 165, I don't really see many of the problems there might have been three years ago with Vector or Sleuth. Maybe the word about the problems with the interpretation passed up to Archie. Or maybe I'm just jumping the gun.
Still, the Bobcat Goldthwait soundalike might not work for Vector either, as in the 4Kids dub. They ruin everything.
PS, I've only heard or seen "brotha please," but this is the first time I've seen this way.

I think that a character can speak in ebonics or have a bit of an accent and be okay. I mean, they have "french" and "australian" characters, so why not "african" characters? But for those characters to become villains or be treated like the "dumb ones," that's what I don't appreciate. There's still the tendency in a lot of comics/cartoons to treat black characters like the "jiggy" ones or even worse, the lazy ones. Not all black people talk exactly the same and have the exact same taste in music/clothes/etc. _-_

I personally don;t understand the whole "black furries" thing... fursonas and furries and etc are devoid of such humanish things. Vector may talk like drives a 'lac with hoes in the back, but he isnt BLACK... oo; ooh, I rhymed
I say this in the sense that theres no such thing as a black or white animal... save humans, of course. And furs are...? You know this one.. come on, lets hear it... NOT people. ...There, I said it, now hopefully the monkey will go away...

Furries aren't necessarily devoid of human traits like that. It really depends on the world they're based in. In some stories, for example, lions hail from Africa and koalas are Australian, meaning the lion would be black and the koala would have an accent. It just depends. Archie has quite a few characters with different ethnicities (Geoffrey and Antoine, for instance). Unfortunately many of those characters are portrayed as unlikable. Lately, however, Geoffrey and Antoine have been given more positive spins which I'm happy for (though I liked Antoine more as a wuss... I say that having no bias for or against the French).
I personally wouldn't want MY fursona to lack traits relating to my ethnicity and such. Many people, I'm sure, create those characters as an escape. But I created it to be a representation of my RL self, so I'm happy to hear people say that she looks like me or they knew what I looked like IRL just by looking at her.

Hmm.. you know, I basically stopped reading the the comic after about the... I cant recall, 60 or 70th issue maybe... so I hadn't really any idea about the Geoffrey character... I suppose that also goes for that Emu character from back in the Tails comic days.
Of course, you do have a valid point and that makes complete sense. I really dont know what to say

For one thing, I happen to like all of the Chaotix characters, including Vector. He really cracks me up in Sonic Heroes.
EXAMPLE! Scene from Bullet Station, Team Chaotix:
Espio: That cannon shot us all the way through.
Charmy: That was fun! Can we do it again?
Vector: CHARMY, THIS ISN'T A ROLLER COASTER RIDE!
ANOTHER EXAMPLE! Scene from any part that requires stealth:
Espio: They're sleeping. If we remain silent, we can sneak past them...
Charmy: OKAY!
Vector: WHADYA DOING?! BE QUIET!!!
Second of all, blame Archie for making Vector sound like a smack-talker, not Vector himself.

I AM blaming Archie, silly. Read the description. If you would do so you would also realize that Vector is my favorite character. And this was also posted before Sonic Heroes came out. I have played it in the meantime and have actually enjoyed it. I still think Vector's voice is kinda stupid and don't like his design.

Vector be my favourite Chaotix character of them all.
He has the charaistics to be a great character, but is bounded by commercialized Sterotype thug because he has headphones! >>;;
I do like Vector, because in honestly. The Archier Chaotix have become "Freedom Fighter" wannabe's, but Vector is different because of his character (which I see him) as a cocky, savue, " ladies man!"
