This is Ocean Heart, the pony I made for babyreenie at MLPArena for the movie custom swap!

One of babyreenie's movies on her list was Titanic - I've always loved that film (as well as any other Titanic based movies) and I wanted to do a custom based on it. I chose to base the custom on Rose's necklace - the Heart of The Ocean (hence Ocean Heart, aint I clever? )

I must say - this pony sent me to hell and back. Seriously. I had to make her THREE times to get her right.. the first was a painted beach berry that got mauled by a cat, the second was a Desert Rose who got covered in oil (long story short - my dad works at a petrol plant, he moved her) and the third.. well, the third is what you see Alas the 3rd didn't go too smoothly either - her original jewel hadn't set in properly and when my mother moved her (my family reeeally like messing with my ponies) the jewel fell out and shattered on the floor, plus she got attacked (more further down). I couldn't find an exact replacement so I had to do some major altering to sort out the new one.

Enough of my rambling - technical stuff!!

Method: Only listing the method for #3 else I'll be here all day
Head and hair were both removed and pony was cleaned. An outline of the jewel was cut into the pony's display side and a sculpey base was made in the hole to "hold" it - the pony was then boiled to bake it. Once cool the jewel was stuck in. As I wrote above the original jewel was badly damaged so to replace it all the sculpey needed to be removed and a larger hole needed to be cut to make the new jewel fit.

She was rehaired using restoredoll hair in a blended mix of azure blue and sapphire blue. Her hair was all originally twice the length it is now... unfortunately someone decided to let my younger cousin have a pair of scissors (hes only 3). I think the thing that angered me the most about this was that his mother sat there WATCHING him do it and didn't even raise an eyebrow :angry:. I fixed it as best as I could but I'm not 100% satisfied with her new do.

Her eyes were more or less left alone - I added a faint coat of a custom mix of sky blue (made with system 3 acrylic) mixed in with turquoise sky glitter. This same glitter was used to make her hoof heart.

Her necklace is made from a small charm bracelet charm I found, beading wire, magnetic clasps and silver elastic.

Despite all the problems I had I'm really pleased with her
