So, as my watches might know I recently lost my German Shepherd Sasha after eleven years. I've been terribly despondent, sad, and lonely without her presence. However, a small black cat began showing up around my yard for the past few weeks.

I'd caught glimpses of her before, but she often ran away, or did not come into the yard. So, last weekend we gave her some food and sure enough she returned the next day, and a few days after that. She was, we thought, just a kitten herself. But, playing with her revealed she had probably given birth at least once.

Two days ago a kitten was left on my patio. I heard the mewling cries and assumed it was my new friend asking for food. Well, instead of her I discovered this little kitten tucked in under the eaves in the corner of my patio. It is my belief, that Pat, Daniel and I have gotten a "mommy stamp of approval" by the black cat we'd taken to calling Mab.

Little Harry, pictured above, is her son. I think. He is four to five weeks old according to my vet. And, absolutely hilarious. I think Sasha would be happy to know I'm not quite so lonely today.
