Description
Have I mentioned Charlie here?
*checks tags*
NOPE! For shame!!
Charlie started out as this happy-go-lucky character, but now he’s really sort of tightly wound since he’s trying to keep his vaudeville team together while the charm of vaudeville is on the way out as silent movies become more popular. Eventually, Charlie and the members of his troupe who stick around with him head over to the studios to try to get work in whatever positions they can, namely stunt doubles. Charlie doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life getting socked in the jaw, crashing into tables, and dragged around by horses, so he works on screenplays in his downtime.

It's interesting to see a character struggling with events which a lot of people in reality probably struggled with too when the ages of entertainment changed. It's pretty sad really, I feel for him a great deal. As a stunt double he probably has to endure seeing the diva movie stars too

Yeah, I was pretty inspired by my film history classes from college and some of the movies we watched from that time period. And also how the film regulations were pretty lax back then so stunts were a lot more dangerous...
My love for silent movies and old film in general is definitely going to be showing up in Charlie's story! Also since he and Aveline split up, Aveline started seeing a movie star (not a big one, but still he's in The Pictures), so Charlie has to deal with that fathead...it's going to be fun... >:]

So he's a silent movie actor in the Maelstrom universe? This is a really cool aspect!

Technically yes, but more like a gofer if we're talking the early movie years.

But what's wrong with getting socked in the jaw, crashing into tables and getting dragged around by horses, Charlie!? I can't see how anyone could NOT like that. xD

Haha! He doesn't have a very good insurance (See: NONE), so he's gotta look after himself or else he'll be paying through the nose for all the hospital bills he's likely to get acting! xD The early years of movies were a crazy time...
