Muggle-Angel [2011-12-30 10:23:48 +0000 UTC]

I just did this to test how easy it was... I'm glad to say I only got confused once, but figured out what to do quickly. Since it was so easy, I plan to teach my 7-year-old niece how to make it. When we found it yesterday, she was excited to give it a try. This will be her first ever origami, so wish us luck that she'll have fun with it!

how did you do steps 16-18? I'm confused.....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadySwallow In reply to myusernamewastaken2 [2011-12-05 10:11:36 +0000 UTC]

Step 16 - just fold it in half (you should have figure like in step 18.)
Step 18 - you shoul fold the wing like it is shown on the picture c: Look at the red line

i did it too! it look better than my previous butterflies. your tutorial is good, but the way you made the squash fold, although clever is not very clear in here... but your butterflies are so cuuuute ^.^

LadySwallow In reply to d-a-y-a-n [2011-10-18 17:45:04 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! In fact this is my first (and only until now) origami tutorial. I thought this step is simply even for beginners so it's looks like that... I was wrong! If I will make another tutorial it would be more clear

d-a-y-a-n In reply to LadySwallow [2011-10-18 18:20:56 +0000 UTC]

well, i dont know maybe for someone who never did origami it's clear, i'm used to another way of doing it that's all. although i have to say the method you use to do the basic creases is so much faster *.*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadySwallow In reply to d-a-y-a-n [2011-10-18 18:31:50 +0000 UTC]

It was my way of doing that since my first origami models so it's just naturally for me

d-a-y-a-n In reply to LadySwallow [2011-10-19 00:25:42 +0000 UTC]

i guess so, maybe you'll make some followers. xD

i dont think there's a right way to do origami, the right way is to enjoy yourself i guess (wich i do, specially during long, tedious classes xD, it's a secret).

LadySwallow In reply to d-a-y-a-n [2011-10-19 14:26:24 +0000 UTC]

Haha! I hope so xD

Yeah, everybody can do it as they feel it. I've been creating many origami models during the lectures

...squash...fold...?

I'm sorry, but what?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadySwallow In reply to Hayhayluvpokemon [2011-09-02 19:56:37 +0000 UTC]

It's hard to explain... look at step 6. Then you should only squash this fold to the centre of figure. It may be hard if you are begginer. It should come out like in step 8.
