OK, that's a little better, I guess . . . I'm still going to try to do it better, but I'll just swap out images when I do.Commission for ~Sepia-Mortis , and only she can tell you why Harry and Ron are racing through the halls on their brooms, but they're probably going to get it when Snape and Lupin catch up with them.
FYI, if you're interested in the methods and materials I use when inking and coloring these pictures, I'll be hosting a workshop over at *PotterShare in the not-too-distant future and this picture will be the 'visual aid'. I lveo Snapey-boy's Robes, hair, face and expression, and Lupin is not how i usually think of him, (i Usually go with the movies) but Fantastic anyway. Very good picture. Love Snape.

This is a weird observation, but I really like how the boys are seated on the brooms! Many artists draw the rider as if the poor thing's entire crotch must bear their weight on the broomstick; not only a vulgar image but a painful one! Haven't they every heard of the Cushioning Charm? It seems you have. Men everywhere can look on this drawing with an easy mind. And Snape's slamming back against the wall yelling 'Hey!' in surprise is great! I can see him retaliating a second later, poor kids. Lupin is more like, 'Boys? May I have a word . . ?' Every one in this drawing 'reads' brilliantly and I can't wait for your workshop!

Seriously, I think about that, too! Brooms cannot be comfortable if you're just sitting smack on one. I DO keep the Cushioning Charm in mind, and the foot braces, so you can kind of stand up a little. Just seems more comfortable to me.

If not for that charm I don't think broom travel would actually be a practical form of transportation. You'd have to invent some sort of flying saddle . . .
