Varan, like the four other guardian kaiju before him, was seen as a demon in Feudal Japan, and his spirit and body where locked away in a lake near where Tokyo stands today. This Varan, unlike the one from 1958, was still considered 'evil' but was still a guardian. When Demonic Godzilla, hounded by Mothra and Mire Godzilla, entered Tokyo, destroying the shrine of the lake, Varan lept out, clamping it's venomus jaws around Demonic Godzilla's arm, as Mire once again started to claw and headbutt the demon saurian, as Mothra supported with stingers. The fight was joined by the last guardian monster, but thanks to the Military accidently attacking all the present kaiju, Demonic Godzilla got the chance to stomp in Varan's skull, killing him, allowing his spirit to accend to the Mt.Fuji summit, where it joined the other spirits.
Powers:
Can create a weak forcefeild around itself.
Can spit venom.
It is unknown if it can glide.
