Description
This is Subaru Hoshino, the last person that joined the 13th unit shuffle brigade fraternity. She was sent to Magayon academy by a foreign organization similar to magayon in able to test experimental equipment embedded to her .
Originally, Subaru is one of the victims that got severely injured when her city got attack by unidentified dimensional beings about 4 years ago. Subaru had severe spinal injury and was paralyzed from neck down and was confined in bed for almost a year. One day, A woman accompanied by individuals in military uniform visited her and asked if she want to be saved from her miserable condition. She explained that she is one of a very rare group of individuals that was born with the "gift" that is compatible with the technology that she is developing. The mysterious woman further explained to Subaru that if everything becomes a success, this technology will make her able to use her body again like it was after the injury. She also emphasize to her that when you accept that her family will be well taken cared off. There is one condition for all of this arrangements though, Subaru will be forever bound to the organization.
Due to the fact that her parents had lost everything and devoted their selves to take care of her, she felt sorry for them and thought that she set them free from this hardship and give them a better life from now on.
She accepted the offer and and told her parents that this is only going to be an experimental medical treatment done overseas and will be gone for a while. She then is brought in this mysterious organizations headquarters and started the long and painful installation of this experimental equipment. This equipment is an experimental technology that is being developed by this mysterious organization to battle the unidentified dimensional beings that is threatening the world since the great dimensional implosion years ago that triggered this strange phenomenons around the world. The equipment is a hybrid of cybernetics and nanotechnology that replaces the subjects spine. also some brain functions had been enhanced to interface with the new functions that the artificial conduits provide. This cybernetic spine is a key interface for the weapons system that is designed for it turning the subject into the central control unit of the whole weapons platform. For the moment, the unit is paired with an advanced flying module powered by twin type X-1 chronus drive/reactor which gives the unit excellent agility. It is also equipped with the very first chronus deflector field "C.D.F" that protects the unit with a dimensional bubble. It also carry an antimatter cannon and antimatter blade as its main armament.
After the painstaking installation of the unit in Subaru's body comes the long and painful rehabilitation and training to use the new spine. With cutting edge technology comes with few problems along the development process. The hole unit can only operate in a limited amount of time to avoid damage to the control unit-Subaru. After all the control unit is only human. It also suffers from energy leakage that overloads the dimensional converters that powers the unit. Because of this, limiters are placed which made the whole system operates at a 3rd of its full potential. More problems plague the program which threatens to scrap it off. Subaru worked hard in able to keep it from happening achieving phenomenal feats but it wasn't enough on what was expected of the program. Then The Animata program was unveiled which solves the problems of the previous program.
The mysterious organization is ready to pull the plug on the Subaru program when Magayon requested to transfer the program to their organization. Subaru got transferred to Magayon and was sent to attend its academy. She was placed in our main characters class. The Head master of the academy asked Elsa to recruit Subaru to the 13th unit to guide her in her time in the academy. Elsa agreed and recruited Subaru to join the unit. At first Subaru refuse to join thinking she is going to be cast out again like the last time. But when the adviser of the 13th unit showed her how this fraternity is like a family , She changed her mind and joined the unit.
Subaru has a sweet personality and kind to everyone. She is also calm and levelheaded most of the time. No tasks are impossible to her since she does make the imposible possible. On the bunch, she seems to be the most dependable of the group and in turn looked up to.

Anyway....
On this piece features a girl merged with machinery. Not completely like "Luna"and "Lucia" but some how. I got inspired with the design when I watched strike witches back then and also by the rocket packs developed back then for the US army. Also a certain mobile suit in stardust memory too... Dendrobium Orchis anybody. Also some star trek ques too.
This piece almost ends up in a disaster when my old school tech pens started to malfunction. which is my fault for not cleaning it for a month lol... I got those cleaned up and fixed but some of the damage was done. I bought The new Staedtler mars pro to prevent this from happening in the future. Good thing there is my tablets which fixed the mess. The original work wasn't up to par with my better works though and might be replaced with a print version from the corrected version.
Well this colored version of the monochrome one and is extensively edited and reworked . This is my 2nd piece using the painting software SAI after ditching Painter 11.
I did learn some shortcuts that can potentially cut my production hopefully down from a month to weeks.
I can say that this is my finest work up to now 11/15/2010.
Now I'm looking forward to my next project.
