Description Helloooooooo. Who saw that coming? Me posting something on the LGBTQ+ ground? And of all things, flowers. Arranged in a rainbow. So gaaaaaaaaaay

So.

GAY

adjective
adjective: gay
comparative adjective: gayer
superlative adjective: gayest

definition:
1. light-hearted and carefree
2. brightly coloured; showy

In this sense, birds are SO VERY gay. I'd say gayest of all animals Besides, you do know their sexual chromosomes are kinda switched, do you? Nature, just what are you playing at?

Aaalllriiightyyyyyy, I'm officially crazy today. Alright, ALRIGHT, I mean craziER (superlative adjective) than usually. I really don't know why. Do you know why? Do you? Aragorn? Legolas? "Nope." Gimly? "Nuh-uh." Steve? "It is a bloody complicated scene, is it?" Mr. Stevens? "No. But I'll kill you with a tray." Well, this is not a game of who the fuck are you. Btw, while we're at it, how many persons are there in the jiggling squishy folds of my brain today? X.... I, I.... M.... C.... "Twelve?" 8D
Have you had enough of my raw thought material, scooped directly out of my brain liquids, still HOT HOT HOT, damn it BURNS! Heh. I didn't think so.

So. Back on topic. *stuffs split personalities back into the jiggly closet* The LGBTQ+ month. Or should I say LGBTQIAPF+++ because you're really trying to put all states in what is basically a continuum over at least two independent axes, into letters. Only problem is, it would take more letters than there are in the alphabet. But nevertheless, it's nice. Here's a whole new method of learning the alphabet. "Kids, who's gonna recite the alphabet for me?" "A, B, C, D...." said the average kid. "Q, W, E, R...." said the average programmer's kid. "L, G, B, T...." said that one new kid in the neighbourhood who has two daddies. But do you wanna know the truth? Every neighnourhood needs a kid like that. Figuratively speaking.
But besides all the jokes, in other words, the gay part.... Oh shit, one escaped. *grabs split personality by the throat* Get back in there, you bloody chicken! ....So, as I was saying, besides the fun part, the subject is actually very serious and important. Okay, serious is seriously overrated, but important is a point. Why. Because there's still a whole lot of people living a miserable life, devoid of the right to be themselves and express it freely, even being subjected to discrimination and violence, because some other people, in other words some of YOU, refuse to look beyond their own nose. The simple truth is, everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, is different. Not only gays. Not only transgenders. You are different as well. But the difference is that some people's differences are acceptable to society. While other people's differences are not. And not because they are in some way harmful to you, to your kids, to your neighbours, to Mickey Mouse, to the planet or to anybody at all. No. It's only and solely because you're bloody prejudiced. Irrationally, stupidly, unreasonably prejudiced. I'm transgender. SO FUCKING WHAT? You think any differently of me because of that? Am I a freak or something? Well, in fact I am, but not because of that.... *ponders* ....besides, freak is awesome, for your information. Oh yeah, and shut up about choice already. If you still believe sexual orientation / identity are a matter of choice, you must be a bloody idiot. Is your personal identity a matter of choice? If it is, please, do choose to be a little more open-minded, will ya?

Speaking of open-mindedness and the LGBTQ+. My understanding is that these guys don't really call for supporting gay rights. They call for tolerance as a whole, that's what the many colors in the flag really symbolize - tolerance for all the variety of people in existence, in particular the variety of sexual orientations / identifications, but the key word is not sexuality - it's variety. I won't really lift up banners and posters for tolerance. My breed of antisocial headbanging freaks thinks tolerance is a little overrated sometimes. Misused and abused, at other times. However, the simple truth is, the existence of the LGBTQ+ people - like me - does not harm you, the non-LGBTQ+ people. No, it does not harm you in ANY way. It only adds variety. Variety is a very nice thing you know. It makes the world gayer, that is to say more colorful. It really doesn't make sense for you to discriminate these people for simply adding variety to the mixture. If they don't harm you and your way of life in any way and don't demand anything of you except for respecting their basic rights - the same rights that YOU have and take for totally granted - then FUCKING TOLERATE THEM. It's not a promotion of people becoming gay or transvestite you know - because you don't become one just because someone promoted it to you. It's simply tolerating those who already are. Tolerance does not mean "let's all be gay for a change". Tolerance means to open your eyes and see what is already there in front of them - see it for what it is and accept it. Because it's not bad, wrong, gross, disturbing, disgusting or repulsing. Not one bit. Not any more than heterosexuality is. Furthermore, it's not a speculation, it's not a vogue, a showing off or a mass delusion. We're talking about facts here. Not everyone is heterosexual. Not everyone can fit in the "man" and "woman" categories. It's also a fact that these categories are strongly arbitrary, not to say imaginary. Thinking of people as only men and women who date only other men and women is like being color blind, but on a different level - this is mental color blindness and that is nothing short of tragic. Stop seeing only black and white. See the colors. Life is beautiful because it's so amazingly colorful, so astonishingly variable. Look at all the life forms all over the Earth. If you can marvel at that vast variety that is beyond any kind of imagination, then why not accept variety's other forms? Don't you understand variety is not only in the non-human species? To those who still think alternative sexualities are unnatural, I'll only say - there is nothing more natural than variety. In Nature, variety is the measurement for the health of every ecosystem. The more, the better. I can extrapolate that into human society and it works the very same fucking way. Why, you are not such a special snowflake, the laws of Nature are still in force for you as well. If 4 billions of years of evolution have proven that variety is what keeps the world go round, who the fuck are you to claim different?

For the record, I'm addressing mainly the stubborn part of society who arrogantly think they know how sexuality should work better than Mother Nature does because they are the ones who need some common sense knocked into their heads, and soon. To all of you guys who don't identify their own position on these matters in the previous paragraphs, cheers to all of you, *shakes all hands* you're awesome, your support and understanding means the world to me, and not only, and without you I wouldn't have made it this far and I wouldn't make it in the future as well.

Now, because I'm me, I'll stray from the topic at hand.
Do you wonder why there is an "extra" blue to the picture up there? The LGBTQ+ flag has six colors, and I have seven here. Well, because this is not really only a LGBTQ+ thing. In fact, even if I sort of join the hype with this, I probably won't join in the official dA event - why, because I dislike the commercialization of it all. Yes, the LGBTQ+ people and their (that is to say our) issues are important to discuss and it's important to blow the trumpets every once in a while and raise more awareness, and I totally support that. However, commercialization is a whole different thing. Commercialization of just anything at all, I'll never stand for. I'm not saying in this particular case dA is commercializing it (though it'd be an exception if it doesn't). But I also always must retain at least a little anti-socialness in me, right? So no, I'm probably not joining in the official thing.

To answer my own question, I added the "extra" blue for a reason and that is NOT only that I freakin love blue. Okay, that contributed. But the colors of Life simply ARE seven. They have a symbolic meaning to them.
The colorful flag of LGBTQ+ was probably chosen to symbolize variety and perhaps because of the old and actual definition of the word "gay" (at least that's my theory.... oh shut up about wikipedia, the world is more interesting if from time to time you DON'T check with it and use your imagination instead), but then those colors had a meaning to Life since long before the movement for LGBTQ+ tolerance arose. Since the ancient ages these colors symbolized the core aspects of Life in the spiritual sense.
So.... besides LGBTQ+, this is also a reference to spirituality. The two may have more points of intersection than you may think. And so the next part of what I'm saying has to do with that.

What does each of these colors symbolize spiritually.

The Root of Life - Survival Instinct, the raw strength to defend oneself, self-preservation and restoration, the most core necessity.
The Sanctuary of Life - Creativity, the greatest power of Life to create and procreate itself, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
The Sun - Willpower, the ultimate inner power of the spirit without which nothing can happen, and with which everything is possible.
The Heart of Life - Love and Hate, the passion in all of its forms, equally powerful, equally essential, its two opposites in a paradoxical symbiosis.
The Voice of Life - Perception and Expression, the power of Life to feel others and to express itself for others to perceive.
The Eye of Life - Intelligence and Insight, the mind as a high achievement of Life that opens infinite new horizons and entire worlds.
The Crown of Life - Enlightenment and Wisdom, when knowledge ceases to be mechanical memorizing and becomes true understanding.

All of these things together are what Life is made of. Understanding them and that each of them has its own key role and is essential to existence helps understand Life itself. The meaning of Life is not in your religions, not in your holy books, not in the commandments of your deities nor in the artificial restrictions you put around yourselves because you're afraid of what you don't understand and therefore cannot control inside of your own psyche and being. The meaning of Life is that against all odds, in spite of all control, restrictions, commandments and any other forms of physical and spiritual slavery, it finds a way. A way back into Freedom. It always finds a way. Why? Because Life is Freedom and Freedom is Life. And because Life can never be restrained - not any more than you can stop the grass from growing. Think about it. Ponder the colors of Life. There's just so much to it. In fact, Life is all there is. The rest is just rocks and empty space.

The mind is the eye which sees beyond the visible, on a whole different level. Never forget to keep it open.

P.S. And now let me hear a great hooray for the human obsession with the reproductive organs of plants Have you ever pictured a dandalion walking the streets with a bouquet of penises in its leaf? Because to everything there's at least 2 viewpoints
P.S.S. Speaking of which, I mentioned earlier variety is not only among non-humans. I'll flip this upside down now. Not only humans are deserve respect and tolerance - all species do. Never forget that. Or you don't really stand for tolerance.

P.S.S.S. The tray is strong with this one. If anyone caught all those references up there I'm astounded

This is awesome and I love the description! No wonder purple is one of my favourite colours, what you wrote is me to a T.

Nice - and thanks! I love purple myself, but I still go with blue as my color. In fact, always. Blue is me. Though as far as this symbolism (and my own spiritual practices) is concerned, each and every color is my favourite, and all of them in a different way.

"Homosexual behaviours appear in pretty much every species on the planet. Homophobic behaviours occur in only 1. So tell me, which is more 'natural'?"

Honestly can't remember where I read that quote, but I always think of it when the subject of gay rights comes up.

Yeah.... sadly it's namely that 1 species that is so incredibly arrogant and stubborn, and so incredibly stupid, that it often times refuses to acknowledge the facts.... strange that it calls itself "sapiens". But yeah, arrogance.... Sadly though, it's also the one we're stuck into.

Both RaiRai and birbs are very much gay, so I'd say yes. :3

Now that you mention it, nothing, nothing's wrong with it at all. X3

To be honest I never thought much about it, at least in the stories birbs don't really show up. Closest I can think of is the phase when Neil gets out of the depression after finding out that Will is still alive, I tend to compare that to a phoenix rising from the ashes.
