Description
This is a rather quick test. I opened one of my articles that require more features:Β For Pirin Β - with the question, can I create an article like this in the new text editor. The answer is: most likely, YES. After discovering the somewhat obscurely hidden features it has.
It won't look the same, because of the narrowed text that limits the layout for pictures too.
I am NOT a fan of the text being narrowed down so vastly. I never will be.
However, I have critique too.

Yes. YES YES YES. Replacing Sta.sh Writer with this new editor is my biggest issue with Eclipse so far, and I bet there will be plenty of other ones once I have to switch permanently. I'm still waiting for a response from the staff regarding what's gonna happen to all my drafts in Sta.sh, I sure wish it was stated publicly since it's a pretty important information to literally anyone who uses Writer.

Hmmm. I don't know.... but I sort of thought by default they can't just remove all those drafts.... that would be really, really nasty of them. And I mean, sta.sh in general stays - its contents should remain unaffected. The notice from the FAQ says:Β "No action needs to be taken for your deviations, journals, notes, and Sta.sh items. All of these features currently exist and can be accessed in the new site."Β - They don't mention drafts in particular.... but it's sort of implied? I've tried switching to "eclipse" and going to sta.sh, too, and the drafts stay there and they can be edited as before. You cannot use Writer to create a new file, but the already existing ones are editable through it. Which is.... bizarre. If the Writer is going in history, how exactly does that even work :/

I have just stumbled upon an answer. By chance.

And it sounds bizzare to me too.

As a writer who posts a lot to DA, yes to all of this.

I am not fond of those "built in" windows emoticons and I don't use them. This was about the emoticons of deviantART, they should be normally accessible in a more visible way, to use in theΒ deviantART text editor.

Agreed
I keep drilling about it because it IS very serious, after all it cripples a significant portion of the art on DA. It simply cannot be left like that. That's one of the reasons why "eclipse" is NOT ready to be launched.
