Ink drawing based on a picture of Koalas I saw on the net.When I was in SA with my Mom this weekend I spent quite a bit of time holding her up to put her in her wheelchair or holding her up to put her in her bed and it struck me how life takes us full circle if we are lucky enough to live a long life.
When I look at this picture it reminds me of a time when my mom had to hold me up.
This is my mom and me. Enjoy.

Alright, you've done two things here, Luis.
One, you've made me cry, which isn't all that hard to do, really. Two, I'm pretty much speechless, which can be pretty hard to accomplish at times .. I know it's hard to believe, but it happens!
I think the words that you speak are those of a truly noble man and your actions are those of the grateful, loving child which still lives within you. You are a great man, in my eyes!

What a wonderful drawing Luis and I love the words how you have described "life" I know where you are coming from as my mum has had major problems, and to see the strength that has held you up and spured you on look so week cuts like a knife.

You just described my exact feelings. So many of my friends are at that age where you become the caregiver to those that made you who you are....yes, its tough to take. Tough to see them becoming progressively helpless....but what can you do? Its out of our hands. All we can do is try to return that love they gave us to them tenfold.

It gets harder and harder Luis, we just had another scare over the weekend, you feel so helpless when they're suffering

Wow. So did we. I got a call late saturday night that they were rushing my mom to the hospital and my siblings were told that the end could be near etc. etc. So I jumped in my car and drove the 200 miles in the middle of the night...I mean I was told I might want to pack a suit for god's sake...it looked that bad........long story short is my mom is going to be okay but this has been 3 very trying days. I spent the night with her twice in the hospital and am very very sleep deprived as I write this. I hope all is well with your mom.

Very glad to hear your Mum will be ok Luis, that was similar to what we were told 3 years ago ( not to expect my mum to come back from intensive care) it's so hard to keep going through but we have to
Well my mum is back in hospital from last night so we're just hoping it's not going to be bad news, my heart is in my mouth every time the phone rings
