Description "Captain's Starlog, February 16, 2162.

Defiant has arrived in orbit of Thalis Sigma IV, a location that Starfleet has chosen to be one of three possible locations for Starbase 3. This planet is roughly ten light years from Andoria, and my new first officer informs me that her people have previously considered a colony on this planet due to the large ice shelf on the northern most continent, before their 'conflict' with the Vulcans made the Imperial Guard divert its attention to the Vulcan border rather than expanding outward... nevertheless, it's the first planet Defiant has been to on a pure exploration mission since the end of the Romulan War, so it will be good to get a chance to resume what I originally joined Starfleet to do."

----------

Obviously, I named the Defiant after it's namesake on Deep Space 9, and was launched just a month before the outbreak of the Romulan War. Obviously, this ship is not following the exact path established by the Enterprise relaunch novels... I really hate that only one NX-class starship survived the war, but thats just one of my list of complaints about those novels. Don't even get me started about Commander Tucker.

Defiant was originally an NX-class starship that carried the registry NX-05, and after the end of the war and the formation of the United Federation of Planets, she was upgraded to Columbia-class and fitted with a new Warp 7 engine, in addition to new equipment such as shields, tractor beams, and two dedicated transporter rooms.

Background: Artist unknown, found on Imgur. If anyone knows the original creator, please let me know so I can add the correct credits.

Also: Image is a work in progress! I'm still tweaking this scene to get it how I like, and the lighting on the ship as well. Constructive criticism is welcome.

I didn't do much, sir! Only changed the registries, swapped the Columbia deflector in, and redid the lighting since it didn't scale very good, however your compliments mean a lot, big fan of your work (meshes AND images) so THANK YOU for letting us play with the meshes!

Thank you! It took a while but I'm pleased with how it turned out, and I have a couple more that I'm working on that I hope to get good enough to publish soon.
