Description
Unfortunately not all animals are afraid of fire ...Done in Photoshop cs.
Edit: Spent a little more time on the creature's skin - plus added the second arm, making the first look less like a weird lonely tentacle thingy.
Criticism is always welcome - I can take it.

Thanks man Yeah, i think i did. But after they enlarged it like that, i realized that it needed a bit more work, so i've detailed it some more, and textured the creatures' skin some more. Looks better up close now

Amazing. I didn't see it before to know what you did different, but I'm loving his skin. And his mossy little mane. And that tree. It seems like you're doing something very interesting things with brushes in some parts, but I'll be damned if I can figure it out. Ooh, ooh, the horn.. It's so... cavity ridden...
You'd think those birds would no better than to hang around for the next bit. Or maybe they're carrion eaters hoping for a good meal. Doesn't seem like they're gonna get it - I love the feeling of this most of all, so inspiring.

Theres a lot of focus on the creature, due to the extra detail on the skin. The color scheme is nice, but the character seems to be too quaint for the picture. I really like the gesture of the creature and the picture in whole. Great work nonetheless.

Thanks alot will85 - could you elaborate on how the character looks too quaint?

Wow, its been a while since I posted that last comment. You have a lot of focus on the giant, giving him the majority (if not almost all) the attention to detail compared to the character. Without first making the smaller character bigger I'm not sure how you can implement more detail on him. His gesture obviously matches your title and in generall your overall theme I presume. Maybe by bringing the camera/viewpoint closer in on the two characters you can balance the picture out more. Hope that helps.

Very cool. I like the realism. My only critque would be that perhaps as much detail could be put into the background (the valley, river, sky, etc.), although that might take away from the focus of the image. On second thought, scratch that. I'm not really qualified to critique this anyway.
Although that logo in the corner is pretty distracting. Was it required that you place it there?

Everyone is qualified to criticize - but you're right that a detailed background would take the attention away from the main focus.
The logo in the corner is only there, because I'm psyched to have been featured hehehe
