Twilight is best pony. This took around 16 hrs to make.Had to rush this one because Celestia got denied for the armor contest fav.me/d5qh7yv , since I made it before the contest began. >_<

Please make a Rainbow Dash in Luna-themed armor. I dont care if you make celestia too, but i really wanna see her in Luna armor after reading a certain fic where the NLR and Solar Empire are at war & AJ and RD went with Luna, Twi and Rarity went Solar, and Pinkie & fluttershy went neutral.

The deadly flaw of ALL pony armor: No belly armor. This is especial bad for non-unicorns (think of they would have to attack)

Earth ponies would have more armor than Twi here. Pegasi a little bit less.
Alicorns... you'd be happy if you can get anywhere near close enough to take a swing at them. In my opinion.

The amount of armor is not the problem. Remember the core rule of armor design: It does not matter how much armor you have if it is in the wrong place. Earth ponies and Pegasi get up on their hind hooves when attacking exposing their belly (which have no protection on most pony armor)

Very true, perhaps the armor would be more concentrated towards their undersides. On the other hand, in air to air combat their back and wings would be most exposed. Thinking about it I can picture pegasi being divided in to multiple roles, each of them having appropriate armor for their main task.
Still they require their speed and agility in air combat and a ton of armor would be a burden.

Hm, I kinda don't think gold is really her color. I'm more inclined to say that silver or Luna's armor color (that blueish silver type look), would be better.
Also, I feel the need to ask. It's an interesting concept, but what's with the blades along the horns? It's hard to tell if they're meant to be for protection or close range offensiveness.

I agree that gold may not be her color. To be honest I made this more as an entry to the contest linked in the description. Could have been anypony, but I chose Twilight seeing as she is close to the princess. This is also why the sun mark is all over the armor, instead of her own "style".
The blades are mostly for defence, to parry blows aimed at their horns. I consider magic to be their main offence, with or without physical weapons.

Oh yes! Armour, and fighting, I read a book about the "Art of War" and have assumed the proper attire, I should now be able to, as the book said on chapter 13, "wipe the floor" with your efficiently dissembled body. Now hold still! This shouldn't take long if I remember the proper instructions from my diagrams!

Twilight Sparkle has more shining armor than Shining Armor.
Love the armour's design. Just beautiful. Bonus points for the horn guard, a necessary thing for unicorns. Turned out very well, this, very well indeed. All that detail and decorations, and it could still serve as armour if it's the same sort of metal the guards wear.
Also, the pony-ponytail. It looks nice on Twi.
