Battle of Lutzen 1632, The Yellow regiment elite gaurds with the blue regiment of Gustavus Adolf. The regiment is formed with old soldiers who have surved 7,8 years for Swedish Army. They are defending line desperately against Holy Roman Empire's imperial troops
*behind Story*
This is a scenary of 17th century battlefield on Europe. I intend to make it feels smell of gunpowder, sweat, blood and soil. And I tried to paint it following histroical research.

This is top-notch for historical accuracy and the energy flow of the art! A heroic view of one of the many, many battles they don't teach in school.
15 seconds on wikipedia, learn this man wore a heavy coat-as-armor that day because an old shoulder wound from a previous battle made the straps for the steel plate armor painful, and though the battle would be won, that would cost him his life.

maybe standard bearer had different cloth maybe, I just researched osprey to paint this one

When I look a this I only see murdered people, deserted villages and burning cities.
I live at the baltic sea in north east germany and I can tell you that there was no difference between both Armies, both were made up of scum who looted the land and terrorized the population.
When the war was over, more then 70% of the population was dead, rather murded by the mercenaries or starved to death.
