I do a lot of rough "manga sketches" of quick comic ideas. I wish I could upload all of them, but many are so messy and old that I might as well mainly upload the recent ones. Sometimes, if the sketch feels decent enough, I make it an actual project.Paradigm: Tai, a brilliant boy scoring a high IQ, is sick of being judged for "wasting his talents" or "shaming his parents" for choosing the lazy, average route of life. He moves out and coincidentally roommates with an extraordinarily out-of-average boy named "Rune" that experiments with personality shifts. Tai becomes caught up in Rune's random personal family/friend issues. In the mean time, he learns a lot about trying harder and being above-average.
It is kind of a strange and whimsical idea, but the idea popped up near the end of my 2nd year of college when I felt "Wouldn't it be great if you were given a break and just lived with someone that was so extraordinary that they foiled out your indifference? When he graduated high school, he should have been around 18. He had some local retail jobs every once in a while, but he would have be unemployed when he roommated with Rune, the random dude.

I do always feel really entangled/close to the personalities of my characters. If I make a serial killer manga, you know what type of mood I am in.
I knew you would like Rune's jaw structure. He's supposed to be a really really pretty and privileged kid like Tai, but as you can see, people who are privileged and are told they are privileged do not follow the paths everyone sought out for them. Rune likes to experiment with multiple personalities at different intervals (so he has new sets of friends every so months), but if I were to continue this manga, I would have shown that Rune would become more and more aware of Tai's opinion of his different selfs every time he shifts.
Cause you know, the bromance-teetering-on-full-blown-sexual-frustration is strong in this one.
And yes. If I was serious with manga (which I unfortunately never can attain), I would blow my brains out. Manga sketches it is.

This story would probably tether more on shounen-ai (just 2 guys liking each other with mixed feelings and plot, sex is secondary/smaller point).
