I do a lot of rough "manga sketches" of quick comic ideas. I wish I could upload all of them, but many are so messy and old that I might as well mainly upload the recent ones. Sometimes, if the sketch feels decent enough, I make it an actual project.Paradigm: Tai, a brilliant boy scoring a high IQ, is sick of being judged for "wasting his talents" or "shaming his parents" for choosing the lazy, average route of life. He moves out and coincidentally roommates with an extraordinarily out-of-average boy named "Rune" that experiments with personality shifts. Tai becomes caught up in Rune's random personal family/friend issues. In the mean time, he learns a lot about trying harder and being above-average.
It is kind of a strange and whimsical idea, but the idea popped up near the end of my 2nd year of college when I felt "Wouldn't it be great if you were given a break and just lived with someone that was so extraordinary that they foiled out your indifference? Oh I had a massively fail with it. Spent about 5 hours over the course of a weekend lol. It's meant to only take place one one day a year, and you're supposed to do it at a sponsored location. Maybe we should start our own challenge?

HELL YEAH WE SHOULD.
I was thinking near Christmas (who spends quality time with the family, come one), I would announce I am going to do a 24 comic pages in 24 hours challenge with some artists, and everyone is welcome to do it with me. To prove it, at the start of a certain time (most likely when I wake up at 8 AM), I give a join-me/Livestream link of my digitally drawing. Maybe you could set up a videocam where you are traditionally drawing (I know you said full digital is not your thing).
Either way, everyone is watching each other, making sure everyone stays on track. I think it would be a good challenge. I assure you. I will not flounder. I might even do voice narrating livestreaming when I get bored that day.

Ohhh that sounds epic. I'm totally down, and I think might be able to recruit some more suckers. Just make sure it's at a time when people are on break. We could really play up the "holiday" angle. I mean personally I wouldn't put christmas in my comic, BUT there could be a christmassy theme to event.

Oh gosh I was thinking the same thing. We usually drive to my grandparents on the 23rd, and then return on the 27th. I won't be free throughout that period, BUT I'm free before and after.

Just kidding. I will put that into account! My friend Tofu has a certain break time, and I have a certain break time, and I have a family vacation coming up that I MUST go to (ughhhh), and then you have to drive to your grandparents. I think there is still a period we all coincide though.
Did you think of what type of genre or comic you wanted to go for yet?
I swear, I bet the real 24 pages in 24 hours challenge is much more intense, tedious, and nerve-wracking.

I'm kind of 1 page into a comic that I started a few months. 1 page. I failed really hard. It's a sci-fi comic along the lines of Nausicaa. I was sort of going to wing it. CAN I JUST CONTINUE THAT ONE? And I think I'm aiming more for 12 pages - I can't do 24 pages, honestly I can barely do 1 ahahahaha.

You are one of the few that ever said they liked my handwriting. I love handwriting words in comics, but it so hard to read, and people say to use text. BUT I AM SO LAZY, MAN. I might as well just HAVE GOOD HANDWRITING. *grrrrrrr*

I get lazy handwriting it instead. People will get used to your handwriting after reading a few pages, your drawing style goes rather nicely with the handwritten word bubbles etc. After all, what matters is how you tell your story.

He became a wayward stripper. An old man bought him, and now, he is a sex slave. He escaped with the help of his trusty elephant friend, and they eloped and had elephant babies.
But in the end, life catches up to him. The freedom he had wanted after "getting out" was far from what he wanted, and he realized he was reckless, idiotic, and most of all, impatient with his life.
But he felt that with all these sacrifices and obstacles, he still gained something grand, he thought as he pressed the elephant baby to his cheek and played "Over My Head" by The Fray in the living room.
