That master class sounds great! And the drawing turned out really nicely. I know what you mean with "nooo melodrama", I'm totally like that, too.
But I'm not too sure what she is doing, is she raising her hand because she thinks someone is coming?

It really, really was. Thank you! It's something I'm still learning to deal with.
It's sort of a combination of a -gasp- hand gesture and a warding hand gesture? It just looked pretty, I guess xD

Whee!! Did you learn anything particular while doing this piece?

YES! The biggest thing I learned was putting drama into poses. My initial sketch of Isolde was so static and stiff, because I wanted to be ~*subtle*~, even though art is like acting, you need to do more to get it across. This pose reads as it should, though when I first started drawing it I was like 'omg nooo melodrama', and that's something I'm trying hard to keep in mind.

Thanks for the reply! I love knowing what people learn.
I guess that's something I never thought about 'cause I'm a big fan of melodrama. But you're right... At a first glance, no one is going to notice subtlety. Since it's a static image, you can't have like.. the slight twitch of a smile, or a faint upturn of the nose.

Exactly, and I didn't realize it and couldn't understand why my pieces were turning out boring. It was such a revelation xD

Ah that's right, the Cornish one that accidentally drank the love potion yes? sorry, I have children's fiction on the mind as I've been inventorying my wife's 900-something books for her classroom haha

Yep! Though, haha, it could really be out of any vaguely medieval-looking love-triangle story.
