why thank you....i don't know, probably some price only a crazy/extraordinarily wealthy individual would pay.

i can dig. most of the whole thing is well thought out: your colors, the background design, the girl's posture. the hair is crazy good in color and texture, so are the lips and eyes; the girl is very cohesive with the background while maintaining her foreground position EXCEPT from the neck down. girl's chest doesn't seem to fit because of it's lack of designs. also, the hair coming over girl's left shoulder needs to have some shadow or something, cos it creates a disproportionate look.

It's like a psychedelic mix of christian and tibetan buddhist iconography, could be a mess but you really pulled it of. Me thinks explore other dimensions you do.
I get a feeling of transformation from it

Thank you. Do you like The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway? I love that album...Chamber of 32 Doors is one of my favs off the first disc. I notice you chose to favorite yetuntitled rather than the finished version. Do you like that piece better then?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gembobelse In reply to lauraborealisis [2006-02-23 22:44:01 +0000 UTC]

I love them both, but the unfinished version uses colours that I have more of an affinity for, and I like how the pattern gives the eye a rest in the yellowish area.

The Lamb... possibly my favourite album. Have you seen The Musical Box perform it? I've seen them twice and both nights have been simply magical experiences.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lauraborealisis In reply to gembobelse [2006-02-24 01:58:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know what you mean. I like both versions, personally.

No, I haven't seen the Musical Box perform...I've never heard of them before. Apparently I am missing out...

well, i'm not surprised that i dig, considering i thought the unfinished product was great. did you break out water colors for it or something else?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lauraborealisis In reply to apathi [2006-02-10 01:34:52 +0000 UTC]

thanks, glad you dig. i don't often break out the watercolors, not my perfered medium. i only used pencil, colored pencil, and pen on this piece.

Intense! I had the unfinished version already as a favorite...the new yellow in the butterfly on the right seem to bring out the oranges and reds in her hair and the new blues of the flourishes...(I thought they would have been greens)...give the whole piece real dimension because of the blues in her face...Fantastic work, I hope you don't mind if I watch from now on.
