24x30 inch acrylic on canvas.To me Mary Magdalene represents the hidden or veiled part of existence. She is the hidden bride of Christ, the female half that has been veiled from us for 2,ooo years. The high priestesses of the temple of Mary-Anna-Ishtar at the time of Christ were called Magdalas. This painting represents that which has been veiled from us, slowly rising again in our consciousness. The High Priestess within.

Wow, beautiful, powerful image. Is there some Klimt influence here too? The gown and snake on this painting kind of has echoes of some of that style. Gorgeous work
