Description
I wanted a Captain America outfit for the 4th of July, so I DIY'ed it. I'm seriously sad that whoever is in charge of marketing the Avengers movie hasn't tapped into the women's clothing fanbase. All the stuff I've found is for guys! The skirt pattern is A6944 by NewLook. It's available at Walmart. I'm going to make another skirt with the same pattern that has all the Avengers on it.

This is just another reason why girls rule. Guys would never go to that much trouble to alter a shirt; they'd just go to the next Wallyworld and find a different size.

I am so jealous. This outfit is amazing. I suck so badly when it comes to sewing but to get an outfit as awesome as this, I might have to give it another go - because you are so right, they rarely cater to the female 'geek' fans when it comes to shirts like this.

Another way to do it is wear the shirt inside out, have a friend put pins up the sides to make it fit closer (without stretching so you can still get it over the boobage), sew it up and cut off the excess. But this way deals with the sleeves, which my way doesn't. This is great, I need to shrink my Legally Blonde: The Musical shirt because when I ordered a large, I thought it was a womens' large instead of a mens' large.

I am now going to steal all my bf's shirts and make them MINE
I never thought to do this before XD I will have to do this with all those concert shirts I've had to just wear for pajamas that only came in M (unisex M, of course, which really means men's).

There are plenty of others!!!
The easy way to "explore" how many you can find is to write ":icon" ,put a word or more, "plz:"
I would suggest this Deviation,it really helped me a lot [link]

Exactly, all the stuff is for guys! I was at FYE and found a Captain America shirt... the small was like a large for me. Sigh.
This is a brilliant idea, though. If only I could sew... sigh.

This will work for any size t-shirt as long as the original is larger than the one you're planning to make.

I have to agree, all my t-shirts are mens. It's unfair that men have such cool t-shirts. I love this tutorial, you have saved me from burning buildings and starting a one man (woman) rebellion.
