Description
I wanted a Captain America outfit for the 4th of July, so I DIY'ed it. I'm seriously sad that whoever is in charge of marketing the Avengers movie hasn't tapped into the women's clothing fanbase. All the stuff I've found is for guys! The skirt pattern is A6944 by NewLook. It's available at Walmart. I'm going to make another skirt with the same pattern that has all the Avengers on it.

This is epic! My sister is the seamstress in the family, but this looks easy enough for even me to do!

Oh man! I wish I had saw this last week!
There was this t-shirts of Songoku (from Dragonball) but they were only for men and the smallest size was still too big for me (because even in woman's clothes I wear the smallest) but I just had to buy it so that's what I did...and now I already took it to a seamstress and I'm gonna pay almost as much I had paid for the t-shirt -.-'
Wonderfull tutorial and congratulations for being a DD ^-^

Wow... Thanks for making this! I was planning on doing this with a couple shirts I found but I didn't want to do anything with them just in case I ruined them- but this made it a whole lot easier and it turned out really nice too! Thanks, and congrats on the DD!

Gah, brilliant! It's been pissing me off to no end as well just seeing guy stuff for Avengers (and other comic things too since I like DC as well). Girls are nerdy too, we need love and we'll happily pay for it x'D
The shirt turned out great, nice job

OMG, thank you so much for this! I was just sent a Men's XL instead of women's by mistake from one of those 1-design-1-day shirt sites, so it's *huge*. I could return it for a refund, but I *really* love the design on it, so I was agonizing over what to do... this totally solves my problem!

Somehow you think you just bought a woman's small shirt, because otherwise, this is just too amazing.
You are rocking that outfit too.

Well done I made myself some t-Shirts: one with Sherlock's quotes and one with ARC reactor of Tony Stark. The first of these two was also a men's one t-shirt, so I did the same with it just like You did
But with Stark's device I bought myself a woman's cloth. But the funny thing is, that most of the men's cloths look much more better than women's!
Anyway, good job)

I wish I could sew. Or had a machine, at least. x)
Pretty cool, I have way too many men's size big shirts around here. I usually sleep in them...
I guess I will have to visit a friend with a sewing machine. soon. :]

I love this! And you right about the shirts. Unless we want low quality crap from the tween store, there's nothing for us.

Awesome! I got a Tron Teeshirt at Walmart and had the same problem, the only one left was an XL. or is it an XXL...? Who knows. I only wear it around the house because its like wearing a tent but this fixes everything!

This is such a wonderful tutorial! I know what you mean with all the fandom shirts, give us girls some love!
This is really helpful for me though because i've been meaning to do this with alot of m shirt for awhile but never found really good clear instructions. And also I have that same shirt, so now my costume can be complete and nicely fitted. (I was able to score a small size and used it for my make-shift Captain America costume for the Avengers premire!)

The designs on men's t-shirts are always so much more elaborate and colorful than the women's. This is a great tutorial for making those shirts a little more figure flattering! It's also a great excuse for me to learn how to sew.

I LOVE YOU FOR THIS.
I have the same problem with the whole there's huge guy's t-shirts, but no girl's t-shirts, so now I can use this to make my own t-shirts that actually fit, lol. I'm just gonna need my mom's help with the sewing...xD
