When I saw this, I actually said "Ooohh" out loud. This is just so beautiful to me. The colors are gorgeous, and I'm always impressed with people who can create loose, abstract backgrounds with depth and interest - I always want to do that, but I get stressed. And also, the figure is gorgeous. I love how he fades off at the edges in some places, but has dark, crisp outlines in other places, and how you can see through him to the background in some areas. Basically, I'm jealous of your skills, and I want to be like you! (:

...I forgot to say this too but I wanted to: Sometimes the quick stuff is the best stuff, the most real and closer to how we feel it, I think. Beautiful work, again! OK, that's it (:

You would never know that it was only 10 minutes, is such a well rounded piece yet still very raw and expressive.

Thank you very much. I like the mood of this one too. It's fun to have someone willing to sit long enough to capture the moment (even if it's a very short time).

Thank you so much Now I'm really curious to know which one it is your thinking of. The scream is Munch and I love Van Gogh.

Ah, yes. That posture does say, "Time for Facebook".
I love how the textures are so wild, while still giving a sense of calm.

Thank you! Some paintings are just fun! My son makes me laugh, he's very witty. The sitter always effects the way I lay down paint. Fun gets fun, grumpy...oooooo scary

Almost could smell pottery making...looks pretty earthy. I like the vague eye-sight.

He's a very earthy guy. While I painted him he read his friends facebook comments to me in a somewhat falseto voice. Quite entertaining.
