Sketch-a-Day: February 1 / ARCHIVECinderella is tired. Most of the girls are done for the day and already have their hair down, jewelry removed. It's been a busy day at the studio.
"I could use a smoothie right now." Snow White remarks candidly.
Looking around, the faces of the Princess club have certainly diversified since I first met Ariel, Belle and Jasmine. Pocahontas, Mulan and Kida definitely brought in fresh perspectives for the franchise. Their addition helped transform age-old assumptions on what exactly it means to be a "princess."
"We're not afraid to sweat." Kida chuckles.
I tell them to be themselves. Still glam, with less glitter than usual. Ariel leaps on the couch and drives the others to mad fits of laughter. They bring Tiana out to join them.
"Start getting used to it!" Jasmine quips.
They all smile and the camera flashes.
Channeling Annie Leibovitz here. XD XD XD The sketch above is based on this Vanity Fair cover and was an idea I've had on my hard drive for a while now. This sketch month should be able to help me with this problem.

Woops! haha, so you are right! The one sitting down is Cinderella and the one standing up is Tiana, from the upcoming Princess and the Frog. Belle is standing between Jasmine and Pocahontas.

Aw, this is awesome! It's like Disney Princesses "Behind the Scenes." What happens when they wrap it up for the day! I really like the composition and how you've placed them all up - I know it's based off the photo, but it looks really natural. Ariel makes me laugh.

I can't help it! I feel like when I was a kid I didn't have the talent to draw the things I wanted to and now that I have some measure of ability, it's almost embarrassing to do it. XD
When I saw that photo, I already knew who the girl in the green dress was goin' to be. No further questions.
