Okey, this is just nasty. It is not Sansa fault that Joffrey is.... ehm.... well.... that he so much himself x3
Actually in her place I would have said to him "come and touch me in my bad and you lose your manhood in a very special way"

Oh come on girls, let poor Sansa be a princess. She's a girl pure of heart and suffered so through much! Lol, really funny!

I don't particularly like the Disney Princess series, but from what I understand about Game of Thrones, I understand why any of these girls would want to live with the Disney Princesses. From what I understand, Westeros is not a nice place to live, and the Disney Universe promises a peaceful and better life, not to mention a stable marriage.

Thanks! Sansa can be a difficult character to sympathize with but she's hilarious in comparison w/ the other grim characters. XD
I've seen the entire first season and I'm currently reading the first book.

I love them both <3. I'm a dreamer and hopeless romantic like Sansa so I understand her in that way. Arya is a completely badass though!

Haha, Game of Thrones is a fantasy series. And this poor girl wants to marry the future king and have his babies- but ofcourse, she doesn't realize she's in a series that doesn't cater to happy endings much. XD

Not too likely with her current haughty attitude. XD She might change though! I haven't read that far enough into the series yet!

Well Disney is always growing in diversity... I mean we've never seen a princess hit her rescuer with a frying pan before but here we have Rapunzel

LOL This is GREAT. Sansa is awesome in the fact that she is annoying as hell.
And now that I think of it, none of the Disney princesses were actively wanting to be princesses. Aurora and Jasmine seemed a bit averse to the idea, actually.

Will someone explain to me everyone seems to hate Sansa or find her annoying? Other than when she lied about Arya and the wolf I don't get it. I think she's so sweet and felt really bad for her when everything fell apart.

Hayai-Akurei In reply to mariasindellagrayson [2012-02-20 21:41:49 +0000 UTC]
Well, in the book series, Sansa seems to have this idea that her entire identity hangs on becoming a princess. Yes, that makes her flawed and gives her room to change and develop as a character, because readers like to see the characters grow and change because stagnant and staying the same is, quite frankly, boring.
But Sansa is that sort of character that you get annoyed with because she hasn't yet learned to stand on her own two feet. As the story goes on, you really, really want her to go on that journey of self-discovery so that she can stand up to that crazy Cersei and show her what a Stark woman is REALLY made of. And then IT IS ON, because winter is coming and any Stark blood that has been spilt will be avenged! I, personally, cannot wait for that day to come.
Sansa is getting there, I'll give her that (because come on, she's a Stark!) but so far, she is almost completely dependent on others and relies on them to make decisions for her, and gets rather obnoxious sometimes with her frequent prissiness. You're right that she's got it rough, and the viewers feel bad for her, but that's why this "growing up" journey that she's currently on in the books is working out so well for her character, which is why I described her rather uppity attitude as "awesome" because I know she will grow up to be so much more.

mariasindellagrayson In reply to Hayai-Akurei [2012-02-21 00:25:03 +0000 UTC]
Some people may call her prissy but one of the things I respect about Sansa is how she is ladylike in every possible situation. That takes a completely different kind of strength. If she was able to cultivate that skill, then she would be a master at manipulating royal courts. Her gift for social graces would go along way if she could overcome the fear holding her back. Its obvious why Arya is so likable - total badass, resourceful and tough, she has strengths that Sansa does not. Vice versa, Sansa has strengths that Arya lacks. I think its sad that in order for a female character to be considered strong she has to be a tomboy and masculine. Femininity is so frowned upon in our society now.
I can relate to Sansa in a way because we both love fairytales, daydreaming, and imagine romanticized ways out of our problems (although I am glad to say I actually act and don't wait around for someone to fix my life for me, if I did that I'd get bored and annoyed so fast!). It does get frustrating watching Sansa wait for someone to save her, but her naivete and constant belief that it will get better and someone will come for her is part of what endears her to me. I loved her chapters in Clash of Kings when she seems to start understanding that she cannot rely on the people around her, even her Florian. Sansa is a Stark at heart and I can't wait to see the little bird become more of a wolf.

Oh that's true!
Sansa's annoying, I know, but it suits her character perfectly. The poor thing wants to be in a Disney movie but ended up in Westeros.

Lololol, that's what I've been thinking while reading her PoV chapters: Sansa is a Disney Princess lost in an actual medieval world, with all of it's violence and darkness.

This captures Sansa's boundless patheticism perfectly (which is pretty much all I could think about every time she set foot on my screen)!!

Sansa is not pathetic, she's just a dreamer. Not a bad thing.
