Description
So umm yeahs..this is sort of a tribute and nod to 's image here [link]I've had quite a few people ask me if I can draw in the DP style (or why don't I?) So, yes, as evident by the (offmodel) ghost tail danny...I can draw in the DP style. (I just prefer not to because I always make it off model and I *LIKE* my style. XD)
I've run into a few 'discussions' on using the DP style or not when drawing fanart. One arguement is that 'Butch Hartman said that he prefers only wants fanart in "HIS" style'. Or that 'DP artwork should ONLY be drawing in DP style'.
First off, there's a lot of things people say Butch has or has not said (and arguments on if he actually did in truth say them.) HOWEVER, I consider this highly unlikely since the whole POINT of animation is being able to draw and mimic a variety of styles. (So it seems odd to me that he'd want to encourage future animators/artists to only draw in one style.)
My only other point. If you like to draw Danny as a stick figure...DRAW the BEST danny stick figure you can. If you *LOVE* drawing danny in the style of the show, draw him like that! (I do *LIKE* the show's style, don't get me wrong, there are in fact quite a few artists on DA whom I watch whom I think are amazing good at it.)
The point of this picture: Don't ever let anyone stand in the way of your own personal style or what you like to draw. You're an artist, create art.
AND one more note....I know I screwed up on Cujo...I need MUCH more practice drawing dog bodies. heh. ^_^;;;

What a wonderful message behind this and a terrific sentiment.
One of my favorite things to see are multiple artistic styles...it just adds such an in-depth and creative element.

I am so excited to see you posting stuff again!! I'm one of those DA peeps who just check artist's pages they like. Y'know what I mean.
It's so neat to see Danny in all those different styles and ideas. Love it. It's the true idea of cartooning across the page!! 8D

Not yet. (I'm just really lucky to have met/know a lot of people who are already in the industry). I hope to be one someday soon though! It's my dream!

I don't know anything on Hartman's personality (other then he seems to be a pretty optimistic, if not energetic person), so it's hard to know which one his loyal fans are spouting on what he says is true or false, but I seriously do doubt he perfers his stuff to be drawn in his style.
Me? I'm not even attempting it. I drew my DP crap to be recognizable as DP shit, but I never went any further because I'm finding my own art style. That stated, CUJO! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who draws Danny with Cujo for a pet.

I've heard positive and negative things concerning him from people in the industry, but I haven't met him personally, andI definately wouldn't want to judge him (or anyone else for that matter) without having met them. (Plus I love his work and ideas..it sucks that Crash Nebula never went anywhere). *shrug* I am the same, I like DP style, but I like experimentation and pushing stuf.
Re Cujo & Danny> Of course! I only wish this had actually ended up happening! Danny and Cujo just go hand in hand after that episode!
PS. Your art style rocks, you know I love it.

Can't say much on the man either, so I just don't care for him...because I got no opinion of the man, ahaha. When it comes to his art style, I am a fan of angular style artwork, something I've practiced as early as 13, though his artwork isn't my clear favorite (it's too angular and stiff at frequent times).

This is a really good piece, but the sentiment behind it is what really makes it shine. I like your style too. That being said.. I'm loving the stick figure and clamp ones too XD The Powerpuff Girl one is super amusing too

AMEN!
I love you D:

Personally, i like seeing the characters in different styles, it's so fun to watch c'ause the variety , even when it's drawn in , say, anime, it's very vast! it's really interesting to see and this pic is a good example of how entertaining it can be to see!

Same here! I love people's different interpretations of the characters and how they interpret the original designs in the show.
And you're right. Anime styles are INCREDIBLY vast and unique as much as styles found in the US. (hence why the style above is clampish..more CCS than anything else. O.o;
*HUGGLES* glad you like! XD

Excellent - I absolutely second the sentiment. And I love the different Dannies floating around up there - all of them!
(Although my favorite part, admittedly, is all the little doodles Danny's doing andhow happy he seems to be doing them.)

^_^ Thankyou!

Cujo looks just fine.
Second, I'd like you to tell us which styles you used here, I can get some of them (IE: Teenage Robot, Powerpuff, etc...), but I'm kind of confused at others.
Anyway, so faving this.

Honestly, some of them I've completely forgotten where I used them from. ^_^;;
Lesse though.. left to right:
1. Comic book - ala Terry Dodson style
2. Powerpuff girls
3. ? (i'm not sure, I think I was trying to do 's style, but not O.o (since there are clearly some off model)
4. I can't remember. XD
5. Teenage Robot
6. Danny Phantom, in Danny Phantom style
7. I think I totally made this one up...
8. Stick figure danny - a tribute to a story one of my close girlfriends told me ( ), that another artist friend she knew drew NOTHING but stick figures...but his sketchbooks were filled with the most expressive stick figures. Leading to a 'stick figures are people too!' discussion.
6. Anime danny (in a Clampish style)
