01/18/10 12:52 PM ESTMade some minor, yet, effective edits. Made arms shorter and fixed grin.

Ey, now I know how to spell squirrel. XDD ( no seriously I can't spell squirrel for the life of me, and now I can. fffffff. )
Anyways I always adored Crystal and like I have nothing to do because my laptop is a jerk face and I can't use my scanner because my laptop is too old for it. Which means no new art till I get my Desktop back. Since it has ALL of my AT's, RQs and everything I was working on on it, and I have to wait till they fix it to get it back. Which I dunno when that'll be. FFFFFFF.
Anyways back to the art. It looks funky I know it's the head I'm still working on my style so I thought I could practice a bit more by drawing a simple yet hard character. So I chose Crystal. ffffffff I failed at her boots several times making them larger than her body. LOL
Then I cheated and then shrunk them down to size lol cheater. And yes I know one of them are higher than the other, I was lazy and I'll fix it later when my arm isn't dead. fffff.
For the most part I took my time and actually it took about a day and a half. Not bad compared to the days and weeks I spend on things but that's cause they're traditional, they're harder to do than digital and that's why I prefer traditional too. And most of my drawings don't look funky when draw on paper. ffffffff.
Anyways, I hope =Pastel-Kitten will like this utterly random gift.
And yes that's why I sent you that weird random note asking what color her nails would be. But like, got no reply. So I took a wild guess by how obsessed Crystal is with the color Lavender, so I chose that.
Kinda funny how that's my favorite color too. ;D
Would that be her nail color? D:
If not I could fix it easily lol.
Anyways it was fun to do and I hope she likes it as well as- fffff.

Pretty much no pen tool either. All tablet hand strokes. OH GOD IT KILLED ME. No seriously, I did not use the pen tool at all. I want to lay off that tool and stop being so damn lazy and do it by hand. B(
And yeah I noticed that myself. ffffff. I'll fix it soon enough I suppose, I was thinking she looked to masculine cause of them as well. I just didn't bother till someone tell me. Now that's confirmed I can fix it for real. XD
Fffffffff. Good point about the long part, it's the one drooping down I guess. I should just delete that part of the hand showing because it shouldn't even be showing should it?
I just hate hiding hands cause they make such a difference in the picture!
And also it'll bug me if something does not show. |D
The mouth was meant to be exaggerated, however it could be raised up a little more. And it is too far wide I should move it by a good 10 pixels to the left. Because it's goes too far the other side of the muzzle.
I did it by a 5 pixel brush that's all I used.. and the gradient tool after I flat colored the rest. Though the gradient is there to make it look less boring. |D
Cause just C-Cell is just boring sometimes. fffff.

No pen tool? You are my hero. I've never used the pen tool myself. I just use the brush tool in Adobe Illustrator for my better works. By hand is by far the better way to go 
I wouldnt say delete the hand. It'll make the picture seem a tad lazy and it'll look awkward if it just isnt there. I would say perhaps cut off a bit of the middle of the arm and bring everything up a bit more if possible. 
I agree whole heartedly; Cell Shading bores me to DEATH. I'm struggling to find a good colouring style, but all the tutorials are stupid cell shading ;0;

Yes. 
I use just Photoshop which means it doesn't make all smooth. fffff. I tried Illustrator ( Communication Technology class ) and I like Photoshop better lol. I use it even the projects with Illustrator because I can only know how to work on program at a time. fffff.
Yeah it is cause that's just yourself you don't always know it wrong because that's your perspective gotta rely on others for that sometimes.
I only made a lil' bit of two fingers show because really you wouldn't see any further than that. fffff.
Yeah most of emotions are exaggerated so it has too look somewhat goofy but like right then it was too weird lol.
I fixed it and now it's better. |D
I did that with the other hand too it looks a tad better now, and the other one just looks weird cause it partially hidden. ffffff.
Yeah same here. And I can't do much of digital coloring either so I need to figure out a way to make the coloring of Cell shading more unique in my style, maybe I could make it filtered in some way.. hmm. Just an idea I don't know what to do exactly.

I adore the pose, really energetic and adorable. The thick inking you did on this really makes it pop out and seem really emphasized and bold. I love how you did her big feet, really suits her nicely and evens out her body shape. <333 Great work on the glow effects! I LOVE the big grin on her face, she looks so sweet and perky. I love how you did her big, bubbly eyes, they really suit her nicely, and the sketchy shading you did in certain places is a really nice effect! I loovee the deep shading on this, and the gradient-effect colouring.. <3 Great work on her zipper as well, that stood out to me too for some reason. XD <33333333333

I think my style is weird, but it's still a work in progress, slowly going anthro but in a cartoony, yet, my own style. Oh, that's gonna take a long time. fffff

I did have another pose in mind but I'm not all that good with this new tablet I got recently, so I had to pick something simple but focus more on the detail since it was simple. <3
The thick inking is like my trademark or something I make mine, I don't know what started it but ever since I did it once I kept it. It makes the line art look more unique than the simple one lined line art lol. I had trouble with her feet lol. Before I made the boots bigger than her body and I mean like 2 times bigger. XD
I do glow effects all the time so it was easy. And fun. I am obsessed with glowy things. Don't know why. I just love glowing objects lol. And that was fun those grins are sooo fun, it make them look so cute indeed, I love to exaggerate. <3
Yeah I tried having them half way but it didn't look right with her grin so I made them wide open. <3
That was line art that was sketchy but in some places it looks that way.. D:
The gradient is there to make it look less dull since my coloring is very simple I have to have some type of special effect to keep it looking less plain. I made the zipper in action. Cause she's sort moving but she just stopped like thing. fffff.

The shading and lighting is really awesome
Strangly, I think the boots.. sorta kinda work o.o;

You could do a disco scene? Lots of lights and differnent colours on them. Challenging, but different.

It's a fave thing of mine <3 I get carried away with line art and just keep going, adding in shading like that. It's useful when you can't get the colours to go dark enough for you .__.;

I think cause there's like 4 different types of light sources in it. OTL. I died when I made that.
Hmm.. I guess I just favor this one light source it's like automatic when I color. lol
It ain't that hard once you know tricks, all I did was select it and made it smaller by the transform tools that show up. ;D
And I had to shrink the arms down too. fffff.
That was hard because that was when I posted it here already, and I had to move every layer and fix each one. D:

Chibi style, cool pose which had a flowy feel, well drawn buldings which showed good height and detailed BG and the shiny lights = <3
aaah.. I.. draw the pose out small 2-3 times, big once or twice and then finish it off. o.o; then get the old bad one and the good new one mixed up

i use a laptop only with a ,mouse my laptops four years old and has more memeory than my pc which i'm usingm plus i am drawing goo not from fosters home or a blob thingy but a sonic char i drew
