Exaggerating shapes and proportions still feels like a newer concept for me to wrap my head around, but breaking the rules of realism I was influenced by growing up feels way too fun for my own good. Shape language is a goal I aspire to keep pushing and testing, potentially until it snaps lol. But it's one of the current elements of painting I'm heavily inspired by and excited about right now. Identifying the parts of illustration I enjoy has helped narrow down what to focus on day to day, and it makes the prospect of painting that much less stressful and overwhelming when given the opportunity. As a fellow perfectionist, or at least having been one for as long as I can remember, it's encouraging to witness that internal progress. It may not be as evident on the outside, but it makes all the difference on the inside.

So here's that daily reminder to focus on the things that motivate, inspire, and enlighten you. Keep creating for yourself. Keep discovering yourself. Keep being a student to the wonder of creation. Trust the process—it will make the work easier with time ♥
