Hah... probably true... which reminds me of a line from the Polanski film "The Fearless Vampire Killers" where a Jewish innkeeper who lusts after his serving wench returns, after being bitten into vampirism to have his way with the wench.
She holds a crucifix up for protection to which he, leering and perched like a gargoyle on the end of her bed, replies "Oi, haf you got the vrong vampire"!

... the innkeeper was played by the English actor, Alfie Bass who around that time was Tevye in the London production of "Fiddler on the Roof" ..... so there were layers of humour in the film..
