I hope it is more obvious that she is crying blood in this somewhat zoomed-in version. I'm thinking of editing out the blood in the other version.Thanks to for the pose - it was this image [link] that inspired me.

Yeah... my character in the RPG I was playing that this scene represents let her free. She's only 6 inches tall and probably couldn't eat you, but she did indeed cause her fair share of trouble! Scared away any girls my character was trying to hit on.

This is a great concept and a very effective composition. I think the bloody tears effect would be a bit clearer without the smear on her cheek. Then they would read more as tears. (Doing that also allows the light reflecting off of them to draw focus to her face). The other thing that stands out is that the hair doesn't really wrap around her right horn. It's a little thing, but it's something that I noticed.

Thanks, I've been meaning to make those corrections, but I've been busy getting ready for a move, which has been taking all my time...it's the kind of stuff you don't really notice until you look at it after you haven't seen it awhile.

Oh I see now....when someone said she'd bitten off her finger I had to go back and look...but I see she just used her blood tears to write 'free me' ^-^ I love it anyway...wish I could catch some of the page view marks and maybe talk artists into doing one of my odd people....but I can never seem to catch em...I really like the symbels you used for her 'cage'...where'd you find them?

I made up the symbols randomly. I did it the easy way - drew out the whole thing with no perspective, then used the Transform tool to put it at the right angle. So much easier than drawing it in perspective.
