Description

After the poor results of the Type-36 LT Model A, a modification was proposed to all future models, increasing speed, manueverability, armor, and making the engine more efficient. The result, was... rather anti-climactic. With these modifications, the Type-36 Light Tank was now little different from the standard Gallian Light Tank; a trade of more speed, in exchange for a weaker gun.

Even very similar in appearance, the B model did little to distinguish itself from the GLT, other than it's lower weight. Seeing extensive use in the Gallian Civil War, used by both Royalist and Revolutionary forces, the Model B made a name for itself, but only time will tell if it can fully replace the original GLT.

This was my favorite tank in VC2. It only cost a single CP to use, and it could traverse rough terrain better.
Both light tanks A and B were in VC3, so they were around in 1935, unless they were prototypes. I kinda doubt that they were though, since the game usually specified when a tank part was "experimental", such as the chassis to what ultimately became 'Medium Tank A'.

It would make sense, since there would be constant attempts to upgrade the GLT, just like you keep upgrading the official tanks. As with any series, the canonical timeline is always subject to changes, so it it's entirely possible that the Type-36 A/B was built earlier than said in VC2.

Also, it is worth noting that the Type-"36" could be a reference to being finalized in the year 1936. Since the first game notes that it took a full year for the Gallian/Imperial War to end, depending on the loose canon of vehicle and weapon upgrades, it is possible that most of the Type-36's were being finalized in design before the final battle of the war. Or, they were finalized already, and it was decided that further investment in an untested prototype series of tanks, wasn't the best use of Gallia's already rapidly diminishing military.

You can support this, with the note of Audrey Gassanarl's appearance in VC3, where she drives a uniquely upgraded version of the GLT, the "Narcissus". Unfortunately, since there seems to have been a slight retcon of some of the details between VC2 and 3, I can't really know for sure, unless I can get my hands on the artbook for VC3.
