I think I went a little overboard with the red color on the face, as if Max came out from the sauna or as if it was a sunburn

Well it definetly is colorful, but thats what i like about it. The warm colors in the face contrast so well with the blue in the background, which i think makes it really interesting (probably wouldnt grab your attention as much if the red was lighter)!

In fact, I set myself a task: to use in this portrait only 3 colors - red, yellow and blue . These are the colors of team "RedBullRacing". So I had to paint the face red and yellow.
You are right that a contrast of colors attracts attention!
