I ship it! I ship it! Can't stop me!I always found Googie to be so adorable and she and Shaggy actually made a cute couple.
Too bad many people don't remember her or find her relevant (though it's kinda true). She was only in one movie, The Reluctant Werewolf, as his gf. And eh, she was kind of annoying, but I still liked her

Oh! Fun Fact! This tele-film movie was the last appearance of Scrappy-Doo until the Scooby-Doo live action film in 2002.

I agree that they would make a great couple. Even I wish that they would bring her back. ATTENTION IDIOTS AT HANNA-BARBERA, BRING BACK GOOGIE AND FIX THE HOT MESS THAT IS CARTOON NETWORK. They cannot relie on anime alone, they can do better. MUCH BETTER! Nevertheless, great picture.

This is actually a very cool picture. I really like Shaggy in this picture. I feel that of all the members of the gang, he would be one to get a piercings, this looks awesome!
Googie is my favorite girl in the franchise except for Daphne and Velma. She has one of the best designs ever in a Scooby Doo movie. Why do people have to assume Shaggy would get together with a less beautiful girl? He has some of the best qualities that girls would like.
Now, I don't know why Googie never made it back in a movie or a series. Honestly I would like to see her come back and do a second part of the Reluctant Werewolf, since that movie kind of hinted that a sequel was possible.
Hanna-Barbera knew how to treat the gang right. WB is mostly just throwing out unrefined works done by amateur writers.
Now, I'm a fan of the original HB. I think they made the best SD movies, and this was a first for them: to give Shaggy a love interest in a movie and I couldn't help but notice that Googie really likes purple, she wears everything purple, just like another main character in the franchise: Daphne. If anyone saw the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo, the last HB series created, Shaggy and Daphne were living together, that is a big hint that they were in a relationship. So I believe that HB wanted to put Daphne instead of Googie in the movie, but didn't want to divide the fans so they kept they made Googie a perfect stand-in for Daphne. HB wanted them to get together.

And while you have the right to your own opinion and theory (seriously you do), Mine was always stuck with the fact that Daphne just accompanied Shaggy in 13 Ghosts (and previous series) with no romantic feelings. Just two friends, two dogs, and a child solving mysteries.
Before all of this, it was just Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy for awhile because they were like everyone's "favorite characters" but of course that was getting old so who was HB gonna add to the gang to give it that "flare"?
Fred? Nope. The show would have been too boring. Velma? No. The show would have been too repetitive. How about Daphne! They needed to bump her character traits anyway.
But who really knows. Maybe Frank Welker (Fred) or Nicole Jaffe/Pat Stevens/etc (Velma) couldn't provide voices at the time-I don't know.
And you know, I'm not one for looking into the minds of fictional characters, I just look at things from the outside in.
And even after 13 Ghosts ended, Daphne was away during the movies of Ghoul School, Boo Brothers, and Reluctant Werewolf. I guess some people would wonder why. But in the end, Shaggy indeed found himself a girlfriend, no hinting, no beating around the bush, a girlfriend. All under HB's productions. So I believe if they wanted Shag and Daph to be together officially, they would have done it. And not all this hinting.
I mean hey, they hint Fred and Daphne all the time lol But are they together? No. Will they ever be together? No. And that's okay.
No need to ruin a great franchise with things like that. Hinting is what keeps everyone watching
But honestly, even after all of that...who cares lol (I babble) Fans will like what they like and ship what they ship.

You are right, everyone has their opinions and I agree with you, I think that bringing relationships into this franchise now after 40 years will definitely hurt the franchise by dividing the fans and pitting them against each other.

I liked Googie as well, but honestly I kind of thought that Crystal from "Alien Invaders" was a better match for him...even if that did turn out the way it did (avoiding spoilers for those who haven't seen it).

Good artwork, and Shaggy and Googie were sort of an underrated pairing actually.
It definitely had a lot of potential; heck, we never saw much of Googie after that movie so maybe she has a backstory or family life that's pretty incredible.
Actually, if you changed a few things about her you could say she was a witch, or come from a rich family, or something like that; the sky's really the limit as far as where you could take her character.
