It helps she's as fucked up as he is. He even has a daughter in the comics, which if my research is correct, he had a hard time accepting was his actual daughter because she was as beautiful as you expect a baby girl to be, and he... well, to quote Weasel, "looks like Freddy Krueger face-fucked a topgraphical map of Utah."
Seriously, you should go see the movie. It's funny as hell with tons of self-referential and black (meaning dark) comedy, gory as all get-out, full of cursing and just a bit of nudity, full-frontal and implied.
