Description
A fan-art of World of Warcraft. I draw this for learning to draw landscapes, as a preparation for my personal animation project.War... has changed...
Wrath of the Lich King is over 2 years ago and Northrend is left abandoned (Most people staying in Stormwind or Orgrimmar for Dungeon finder. Dragonblight is war zone in the end of Cataclysm but the instances are in Time Cavern).
I am even able to see the fall of Deathwing by Raid Finder, that was used to be impossible to join Raids as guilds in Taiwanese servers always host Raid at 7pm on Fridays, that I am just off from work and spend Friday nights in bars, cinemas or even just a walk.
I miss Lich King, Argent Crusade, Dalaran, Awilo Lon'gomba, our mighty Saurfang, Uldar, my former Taiwanese guild, the tragic Scarlet Onslaught, everything on Northrend so much.
The blood elf hunter and troll rogue are my toons. The warlock is one of my in-game friend. An orc warrior (my former guild leader, an English language teacher in China) and a moonkin are drawn but they are deleted because of balance of screen. Here comes a stupid idea: They are mercenaries from Horde and Alliances, now work as silly bodyguards and crews for shooting a wild life program for National Discovery that will be broadcast in Stormwind and Origrimmar.
Blood elf hunter, Irina "Archlight" Greenbranches, Lv85. A gun-manic engineer and a Wolfslayer Rifle/M4 Carbine (What?) user, sometimes use bow and arrows while being heavily complainted about the deafening noise of gun(I hate crossbow).
Troll rogue, "Daphnia", Lv77(when the pic is finished). A sneaker doesn't like PvP nor killing Alliance. A believer of pacifistic ideas of Thrall.
P.S. Farewell Sartharion(TW), and I finally returned to Dragonmaw(TW)

Yeah. Cataclysm is not that bad, except 4.1. I'm happy about 4.2(long dailies excluded) and 4.3. Stories are interesting.
Btw, I'm looking forward to Mist of Pandaria

I am as well. Though I don't know how much I'll enjoy the Asian motif, I'm willing to admit it will be a nice change of scenery, and definitely different from the other things we've seen in previous expansions. We might even get the same unfamiliar feeling people got back in BC!

For me, the fascination of Warcraft is the combination of different things. Just like elves and trolls use bow and arrows when dwarves and goblins use firearms, aircrafts and tanks.
Under these strange combinations are wise, bloody, compromise, politics and strategies. I personally love Thrall so much. He is wise but needs lots of compromise like an actual leader in our world.

I'm more than eager to see how Mists turns out! Who knows? I might even find a guild I like to share the adventure with ^-^

Yes me too. Some may be because I am Chinese. MoP is made very accurate to traditional Chinese architectures that is very rare in games made by western world.

I don't know much about Chinese culture or history, so hearing that they're being very accurate is comforting! Who knows, I might even learn something from this!

Wonderful picture, the background is really beautiful. I miss WOTLK too; everything felt so much more epic back then, but now the story is just sort of meh.

My personal view is lack of interesting stories in new zones(80-85). There is a questline in Icecrown telling the conscience of Arthas but there are no such questlines for Deathwing. And the main reason is the difference between Lich King and Deathwing. Deathwing is no doubt to be much more powerful than Arthas but Arthas is a human, that we can directly feel that Lich King is a powerful human. That's the dragon is lack of.

Yeah totally. Things just don't seem to matter as much anymore. It was like, oh no Deathwing is going to kill us all, but we know that in the end we're going to beat him. In WOTLK the stakes just felt a lot higher to me.

I used to be kinda RPG haters, then I got a arrow in my knee... nonono. I just hate leveling and long gaming time.
I felt impressed by the journey around Azeroth (leveling) when I was a new to Azeroth. After level cap and I was disappointed of those points that for buying equipments, which made it felt like amusement park(I know it is the mechanism to run the game but...)

Yeah, and I feel like lately they're just making everything so easy for new people, while veteran players who had to work 5x as hard to accomplish the same thing get the shaft.
Take the Ravenlord mount, for instance. Back in the day (yeah, I sound like an old geezer XD) the only way to get the mount was by completing the long, arduous chain for swift flight form and using the stone to summon him. You had to be a druid and you had to have the stone. But now pretty much anyone can call him down, and they even increased the drop rate. It's just not fair. I worked very hard for the mount, and now whenever I see someone else with it it's just annoying.

I start playing wow at 3.0.8. I can feel how hard thequests in LV50-60, that was the end game content in Vanilla WoW, totally nightmare but epic.

Yeah I agree. I really liked BC as well although apparently I'm alone in that XD It was the expansion in which I started playing and will always have a soft place in my heart.

3.0.8 reminded me most because the low storage of arrows(200 arrows each slot for a 6-slot quiver). I often ran out of arrows before 3.1 when my toon was about lv30.

I don't think they even have arrows any more, the bow just pulls them out of thin air >.> More convenient, but doesn't really make sense =/

It eliminates embarrassing scenes(I had ran out of arrows when facing Anub'arak in Trial of Crusaders, because of many wipes in previous bosses).
Yes. It doesn't make sense, especially for a military/police enthusiast.
