Nice one man! I like the "tighter" hatching in this, as in the closer together lines.... finer hatching? Anyway it's nice, and I feel it creates a smoother gradient than the wider lines in some of the previous pics. The body markings and the fire really pop being the pure white like that. I feel like her face needed hatching to match the rest of her body though, as it looks like she has dark skin everywhere except her face. I guess it could be lighting, but nothing else on her body suggests that.
Also one thing I've found the 2.0mm is good for, when blunt, is shading in large areas consistently. It's a bit more work, but if she is supposed to have dark skin, you could of tried that instead of hatching. THEN just simply erase the markings on her body to make them white areas. Just a thought anyway, more thinking aloud than anything.

Haha, you're right, the face is pretty much un-shaded hey. Let's just pretend her face is supposed to be completely white... like the markings...
I did try the 2.0 for some flat shading previously, but I think I was using it for black fill which didn't really work very well as it just comes up grey. But yeah, using that technique for more incidental shading is probably worth exploring.

Yeah, HB. I went looking for leads at Officeworks the other day. Looks like they've scaled their mechanical pencil supplies back a fair bit. Had trouble even finding them. I managed to get some 2B 0.7's to play around with. Was hoping to pick up some B's as well, but alas.

Get B for the 2.0, it's what I rock and I really love it. I'm considering trying a 2B in it also, but worried it might be a bit buttery. I do have all the B's in pencils, so I should pull those out and actually play around to see what is what and hope that that translates to the 2.0 leads.

I couldn't even see any supplies for the 2.0. Which sucks because when I used to draw, it was looking like they were going to be a good and convenient place to get supplies from. Oh well.
