this is a request forshe asked for a pic of yuna and i've been thinking of doing some ff fanart for a bit so it was all a bit too convenient.
i had an idea to do something with the aeons, so seeing how ifrit is the coolest summon/guardian/aeon ever, the decision was pretty easy. ifrit would have to have the most awesome horns ever designed. they were very hard to justice too... i don't think i quite got it but it was fun trying.
i have always liked the aeon/yuna relationship concept... big badass looking monsters loyaly guarding their summoner. that's what made me think of doing something with yuna affectionately playing with her pet dog... wolf... demon... whatever. connecting affection with things that could easily eat you alive has always been an interesting juxtaposition to me. it's fun to play around with. next i'll have to do something with shiva...
as per usual, the pic didn't turn out exactly how i imagined. ifrit was supposed to have a really satisfied look, like when you scratch a dog behind it's ear and it goes into ectasy convulsions. i didn't quite capture that. but regardless, i'm pretty happy with the end result. although i really do have to stop going overboard with all the "designy" bits. the joke would probably work better without any distractions. oh well... hope you guys like it.

Hey I saw that Image in Hyper 2004 I think it a Kickass drawing I must say I like the dog due to the fact that I spent a car trip with a mate and his dog (His is name is Jasper) in the back seat which he keeps on dribbling on the front seat of the car, plus it looks cool in your image as well (that if itβs a dog of course). As for Final Fantasy I more of a Zelda/ 007/ Starfox type of guy well because theses games are all on Nintendo which I am a loyal fan of. However just in case I get sick of Nintendo I also have an XBOX, DS, Sony Playstation, Game cube, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, PC and my favourite the βN.SEXTY4β Good Job!

Very funny idea, came out rather well too. And your right, capturing that look on a dog's face for when it's being scratched in just the right spot is a pain in the butt to do. But you did it pretty good ^ ^

I think you did a great job (I disagree, Shiva was the bomb!). I love Yuna's expression and honestly, my dog looks a lot like that when he gets a new squeaky toy. The only thing that's missing is a waggly tail, which ifrit doesn't have. Nice use of Clasko's chocobo lines... Good to see you using such rich colours again, it's what I like most about your art. I think you did an excellent job on ifrits horns too. I love Yuna's old outfit as well, looks cooler!

thanks mate. actually, i wasn't thinking of clasko when i wrote the "good boy" stuff... it's just a steroetypical thing to say to a dog when you pat it. but let's say i was quoting clasko... makes me look more clever.
the horns were mad fun to draw and colour, but compared to the reference, they seem to fall a little short. yuna's old outfit was good, but i think i do prefer some of the ffx2 ones.
