Description Four Spartan cab EMD's (well three Spartan Cabs and one Highnose) lead a mixed frieght on the outskirts of Salem, Ohio. The lead unit is an SD60 (ex-Conrail), the trailing units are a leased GP40-2, and two NS GP38-2's.
This is one of the shots I took when I was sick. I am really pleased with how it came out. I guess railfanning might just be the cure for the common cold.

Actually, Columbiana is closer to here than Salem. I like this area, no road traffic, quiet and you can hear westbound working upgrade in a valley for a few miles. Not to mention theres not too much clutter. As for the power lines, I like em, adds some character.

A few local fans that I know nicknamed this place triple crossings because of the three road crossings.

Its just too bad you got cloud fucked. I HATE CLOUDS!!!

I am a fan of trians too. Personally Conrail is one of my favorites and especially this type. I have a train set in my basement but digital camera's f'd up.

I have a suggestion... I have noticed it seems that in a lot of your approaching shots, the train is too far away and off center, like maybe you opened the shutter too soon.

I use to have this problem. I could wallpaper my house in prints where the train is too far away. On computer, you can crop the shot. Or wait until the train is completely in your frame before opening the shutter. (And we both know how nervous our finger is on the shutter button with the train bearing down!)

Just a friendly suggestion. I wasn't trying to lecture.
