Description
My Version of Anguirus.ZBrush 3.2, Photoshop CS4, and Vue 8
I wanted to do a version of Anguirus that is slightly ceratopsian but with an ankylosaur armor and club tail. He would be able to run lika a rhinoceros with a tank armor. An awesome juggernaut to defend Earth from the invading Xilliens.

Not sure exactly WHY...but I LOVE this Anguirus redesign. Probably because it looks like Angy by way of Monster Hunter!

I have to say, this series wasnt really gonna happen until i played Monster hunter tri and lost planet 2. After playing those capcom games, i felt like it gave me a boost of inspiration. the art and creative direction of those 2 games are just phenomenal to me.

One of the better overly-Ankylosaurian Anguirus designs. I like the how you incorporated the cerotopsian design bits with his crown of spikes.

I see NO Anguirus in this design. All I see is a generic gigantic Ankylosaurus with some fangs.

... No. Anguirus is as much an "Ankylosaur with fangs" as Godzilla is a T-Rex with spikes.
He has Ankylosaurus elements, yes. He also has crocodile elements. His spikes are not like that of any Ankylosaurus. He's a leaper much like Baragon and can tunnel.
Turning him into a generic Ankylosaurus... you just got rid of his mighty jaw strength, his leaping abilities, his burrowing abilities, and even his thunderball ability he gained in the games and Final Wars.
In short... You made one of the most insane and interesting kaiju of the Godzilla-dom boring.

i believe they should stay how they were. this is like a 'what if' i was called to re-design this, this is what i will come up with.
its 2010. sci-fi designs modernize. but the classics are still enjoyable.
i can make anguirus color yellow and speak french, and still call him anguirus can't I? this is a fan art, its not seious. why dont u re-design one then show me?

This is pretty neat, it keeps a lot of his original aspects and combines them with a rocky exterior gives a very natural look to him. Much like he had evolved to blend into the rock when resting.
